Good interview about Ninkovich with Purdue defensive coordinator on main page if you have not caught it.
I haven't heard any word about THIS though from the Saints camp- B&G.net: How much of an impact will Rob have in the NFL? Coach Spack: That depends on how he’ll be utilized. If your coach (Peyton) employs a 4-3 defense, Rob will fit best as a “Mike linebacker. If you go with a 3-4, he may do better as a “Sam. To have success in the NFL, it depends on your physical ability, “defensive smarts and your technique. With Rob, he uses his speed, power and technique to his advantage. If Rob is on the defensive line he can hold his ground and is disciplined enough to stay home in his rushing lane. And (as I mentioned before) if it’s a passing situation, he will disrupt the passing game by hurrying or sacking the QB in just a few seconds. When all is said and done, I think he’ll definitely make an impact in the NFL with the Saints. Could it be we picked up a Mike project and haven't heard it yet? |

Sez he started the last 5 games of 2005. I looked those up against Wisc, Penn St, Mich St, Ill, and Ind. He had 25 solo tackles, 8 assists, and 1 int, pretty good. He also had one td catch out of the TE spot as mentioned in the interview.
