Pick Your Dream Team
Here's the scenario:
The NFL loses the salary cap, and the Saints get Steinbrenner as owner. We have more money than any team in the league and can sign any current player in the league at any and every position. How would you want the team to look? Here's mine... STARTING OFFENSE QB-Peyton Manning with Hasselbeck as his backup RB-Ladanian Tomlinson and Bush FB-Lorenzo Neal OL-Walter Jones,Steve Hutchinson,Lecharles Bentley,Will Shields,Kyle Turley TE-Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez WR-Chad Johnson,Chris Chambers,Roy Williams,Joe Horn K-Adam Vinetiari P-Mitch Berger STARTING DEFENSE DL-Will Smith,Pat Williams,Sam Adams,Julius Peppers LB-Shawn Merriman,Zach Thomas,Julian Peterson CB-Champ Bailey,Torry James,Dre Bly,Lito Sheppard S-Roy Williams and Ed Reed And why not Aaron Brooks as the waterboy. |

Sorry, but if I'm the Saints GM and Steinbrenner buys the Saints, I'm joining another team and FIGHTING THE POWER. Here's my cost-concious team to try and bring down the 'Evil Empire':
QB - Byron Leftwich, Chris Simms RB - Curtis Martin, Julius Jones, Quentin Griffin FB - Cory Schlesinger, Mike Karney WR - Laverneus Coles, Mark Clayton, Marcus Robinson TE - Dallas Clark, Jason Dunn OL - Matt Birk, Mike Wahle, Alan Faneca, John Tait, Ryan Diem DL - Alex Brown, Kenechi Udeze, Albert Haynesworth, Dewayne Robertson LB - Lofa Tatupu, Colby Bockwoldt, Al Wilson CB - Tory James, Dunta Robinson, Asante Samuel S - Adrian Wilson, Josh Bullocks KR - Terrence McGee PR - Bobby Engram Head Coach - Brian Billick Off Coord - Bob Bratkowski Def Coord - Tim Lewis OK There might be a few Pro Bowlers among this list, but I tried not to go with the top-name talent at all positions. Not sure if this team would fit under the cap, but it's close. |
