QB Question?
Can anyone tell us how the QBs did last weekend? All I saw on line was Brees threw a few passes...that was about it. How did the others do? Did anyone see the one guy I hope we cut the first opportunity we get (Bouman)? How about Bruce Eugene? I know he is a very very long shot to even get into a pre-season game let alone make the team but how did he do with the veterans in town...did he even get to practice last weekend? What about Jamie Martin...how did he do? Of course I'm interested in hearing how AMAC did...anyone that went to the mini-camp practices last week, please chime in....thanks.

Brees was the most impressive as far as accuracy goes. AMAC has a real strong arm, just doesn't throw a good touch pass, but he gets the ball there quickly and a little off target. Bouman seem to have a bad day, he fumbled a snap, and ran into the running back once, so hopefully his days come to an end soon. Jamie martin seems to be the definate number 2 QB, then AMAC. Eugene didnt get many snaps in, I dont remember seeing him throw many passes, if any to the first stringers, so dont expect to here much about him.

Also, Eugene is not as big as i thought he was going to be...he looks alot like Culpepper, maybe a bit smaller...i know everyone said he was too big, but he looks to me like a slimmed down a bunch. But at the camp, he only threw to the running backs in their drills, he didnt do any throwing in the 7 on 7 or 11 on 11 drills.

I have a gut feeling that Bruce Eugene will be the third QB. From everything I've read, A-Mac does not have a good grasp for the playbook, and is very inconsistant with his throws. If Eugene can get his conditioning in check, which appears he is doing, there is no reason for him not making the team. Eugene is very talented, and exceptionally smart. I do see the possibility of the Saints hiding him on the roster, and not exposing him in preseason, so he can easily be signed to the practice squad, then maybe allocated to Europe in 07.
