6-10 would be a C....8-8 a B....10-6...an A...anything above....a MIRACLE

my prediction is 7-9 next year...and that would be a big improvement

09/10 at Cleveland 12:00 PM CT - Win (loss of Bently is huge)
09/17 at Green Bay 12:00 PM CT - Win (Farve keeps throwing INTs)
09/25 Atlanta 7:30 PM CT - Win (normally a loss...the dome will be rocking to propel the saints to a win)
10/01 at Carolina 12:00 PM CT - Loss (Carolina is way too good)
10/08 Tampa Bay 12:00 PM CT - Loss (Defense, Defense, Defense)
10/15 Philadelphia 12:00 PM CT - Win (no running game, and not WR's = loss for Eagles)
BYE
10/29 Baltimore 12:00 PM CT - Loss (great defense and now have offensive weapons...too much for Saints)
11/05 at Tampa Bay 12:00 PM CT -Loss (see above)
11/12 at Pittsburgh 12:00 PM CT - Loss (Saints can't stop run and Steelers can)
11/19 Cincinnati 12:00 PM CT - Loss (Palmer is too good)
11/26 at Atlanta 12:00 PM CT - Loss (emotion removed...Falcons take Saints out)
12/03 San Francisco 12:00 PM CT - Win (Saints rebound from 5 game skid with an easy win)
12/10 at Dallas 12:00 PM CT - Win (TOUGH game...Payton wants to beat Parcells too bad...he will pull it off)
12/17 Washington 12:00 PM CT - Loss (Portis will eat Saints alive)
12/24 at N.Y. Giants 12:00 PM CT - Loss (Tiki's last game at home...will make our defense look bad)
12/31 Carolina 12:00 PM CT - Win (Carolina will have a playoff spot locked down...Saints pull an upset)

last year the saints shouldn't have had the record they did! They had injuries to key players and traveled all over to practice in parking lots and high schools They were every-bit a 8-8 team last year. Payton will not win overnight but will lay out the foundation for the team and add through the draft and free agency. I feel that n.o. can be better than .500 this year even in the nfc north!

Hey fellow who dats, my first time here. I think at least 7 to 8 wins this year. Next year we address our LB's an our Ol with the draft an (FA's) then deep into the playoffs ...... ALWAYS A WHO -DAT !!!

There's lots of things to count here:

1) We were 3-13 last year.

2) We live in the toughest division in the NFL.

3) We have the toughest 4th place schedule in the NFL this year.

4) While some things are new, we still have the same FO. They've had some problems stocking the pantry this season. We're still very very weak at LB, OT, and DT.

That's the reality of the situation.

I'll be satisfied if the Saints can do a few things this season.

1) Play smart. No stupid penalties. No stupid turnovers.

2) Play aggressive on both sides of the ball. On defense we need players flying all over the field.

3) Win the games we should win. Compete in the games where we are overmatched. We have the playmakers to make every game interesting. But I think we're going to have a few of those 31-30 games someone else posted earlier. We need to make sure we have the 31.

4) Learn to play in the NFC South. Our true goal this season if nothing else is to take one game from each of our division rivals. It should be our mission above all else not to get swept by any of them.

Now that may still be a 6-10, 7-9 season. But it's a big building block for 2007.

9-7 frankly would be the worst finish we could have:

1) Even in the weak NFC it probably doesn't make the playoffs.

2) Even if you do make the playoffs you'll be a #6 seed and out after the 1st week.

3) The draft position is absolutely terrible.

You want to storm the postseason, not drunkenly stagger into it. The Saints don not yet have the horses on the lines and at LB to be dominate.

2007 is another story though. A story yet to be written.
