Just an idea about Henderson

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; but he still was a VERY productive WR last season...and in the NFL it is what have you done for me lately, so no one cares what his early career was like. Fine.....Eddie had his best year as a pro ...

Fine.....Eddie had his best year as a pro last year. He still had 10 dropped passes & only caught 63% of the catchable balls thrown his way. Stallworth, who has been verbally abused on this forum, dropped 11 & had way more passes thrown in his direction (& they were thrown from an idiot savant). That's not here say.....that's stats. Now.... Marvin Harrison, on the other hand, had more balls thrown his way & only dropped one. So.....like I said, "Stone Hands" (early or late in his career).

I know Bethel's no superstar, but how are his hands? He didn't see much action with the Pats, but was it his hands or his attitude? If he can catch better than Henderson and they both have speed (and personality is about equivelant) maybe keep Bethel and lose Henderson?

All Bethel was good for in New England was running in a straight line. If anything, it's going to be the other way around. I thought Devery did okay last year he's just having a bad camp. Hopefully he can get it together and he has a lot more to offer than Bethel does.

IMO DH's body wouldn't hold up well playing as a RB even if it's was just a few plays per game, we need his speed at the WR position, need well enough alone, we're ok at the RB position..

Henderson at RB is foolish...This guy is small, he'll get crushed a few times and feel dead...He will make the final cut, at 3rd, too...Him and Has will share time alot for this yr, after Horn gets going next yr he'll emerge at #2...Remember in LSU, now in NO...Stallworth, #1 WR and Henderson at #2, and Hass at #3...They'll get the ball, Brees will have dynamite seasons with this team...

I'd keep DH over Bethel, but I'd also keep Bethel over Beerman as well...This is the same the Saints will do this yr, Bethel can catch, too...Deep or not, he'll burn you or dont forget he has lots and lots of hops...What does Lewis has on this youngster, nothing...Bethel can return KO's for TD's, and he can contribute on the offense...But seriously, DH will get those hands together this yr, like Marley said we had a dufus at Qb who ony focused on diffrent players...With Brees DH will get more passes and Endzone action, dont you know what he can do once he catches the ball, c'mon get off the mans back

actually a third reciever will likely include Reggie Bush in the slot quite often! I believe Payton will put the best 11 players on the offensive side of the ball and utilize Duece as the threat up the middle and break Reggie in. Payton will be in charge of the offensive formations and play calling...We are in need of O-line, but the offensive skill positions are in good order barring injury!

Dunn, Sproles, Parker... it's not that "foolish" of an idea. Henderson is going to make the team and he'll be our third or fourth... he's just throwing out another option if he doesn't pan out as a receiver.

Henderson was not a good RB in college. Fumbled often and didn't break many tackles. That's part of the reason he got moved to WR.

Putting him at RB in the NFL would not work. At all.

Well he's not lighting the world on fire as receiver either... so if he doesn't work out, just cut him? I don't see anything wrong with experimenting and trying to get something out of him. Hell we're trying Adrian as a punt returner. And we wouldn't know if it would work or not until we at least tried now wouldn't we.
