Looks like Brees is very much ok...

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Even though Reggie Bush wasn't there, the big crowd watching the New Orleans Saints first training camp practice Friday night was thrilled.

They cheered quarterback Drew Brees and running back Deuce McAllister.

So did coach Sean Payton.

Brees fired 25-yard passes over the middle -- accurately - on several occasions, and showed finesse on a 30-yard fade along the sideline that was hauled in nicely by sure-handed rookie Mike Hass.

Brees says he could play now he feels so good.

McAllister, wearing a black sleeve on his surgically repaired right knee, took part in all first-team drills.

Payton says McAllister also ran well in a set of timed 300-yard shuttle runs in the sweltering heat.

McAllister -- a Mississippi native -- boldly said he intended to give Saints fans every reason to keep calling his name come fall.

He says he wants to run for 1,400 or 1,500 yards and put the Saints in the playoffs.

Rest In Peace JoeSam, thanks for everything my friend.

RE: Brees Throws Hard, McAllister Pleases Crowd, as Saints O

Am I the only one that notices that every camp report goes like this......

Reggie bush blah blah blah....

drew brees looks good blah blah blah....

(then in small print at the bottom) rookie Mike Hass had a couple great catches......again

I haven't been to camp but i never see any bad press on this kid, so is he the real deal and does he have a chance to move up on the depth chart? not to mention Joe Horn was on nfl total access tonight and when he was asked about who will be the number two, dante or devery, he said there was a couple other cats that have turns some heads on the coaching staff. but he said no names so that could be either hass, bethel or glass joe

jamal jones is the one pushing donte from what I have read for the #2.
Chris horn and Hass are in a fight for #3. Closton and Chase are in for ? got no idea.
Chase I think will be out. Injury prone. but has looked good i guess.
Herderson is dropping so many passes that the next thing he will be dropping is his butt off at the airport for a flight of town.
thats not counting Bethel and the beerman.
I count 10. we will keep what 6, at the most. Hope 1 or two can make the PS.
something has to happen to clear up this log jam. another trade?

Horn
Stallworth
Henderson
Hass
Lymaan
Jones/Moore/Colston
Bethel

That'll be the roster for recievers...Jones is not PUSHING 4 #2 SPOT...Are you craazy he has looked good, but not that damn good...He can beat out Chris Horn, Horn hasn't been doing nothing..I dont even know why he's here...That slot where's there's 3 players is gonna be the hardest cut, Colston will most likely hit the Practice Squad and Jones is playing very well and Moore is doing so well, you'll just have to see this guy in a preseaon game...He's NO joke...We'll keep Bethel, its just like having 6 recievers, hes just a ST/Deep Threat that we'll use, he'll definitely beat out the fan favorite Beerman...

Haas got his first piece of negative news today. On saintsreport.com I read the tr. camp article stating that he dropped to very catchable passes today but they also mentioned that he was very tightly covered on both. Personally, I don't care...I like the kid and I hope he does really really well.
