Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints WR/KR Michael Lewis (knee) still is not close to returning to the practice field. He's still recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and a torn ACL. He's currently trying to regain strength in his quadriceps. He expects to play before the preseason is over. He's currently on the bubble to make the team.

Okay special team looks to be the first off bike wins. Unless Bush is the man teamed with Amac. then both will be gone. As far as fast freddy goes I would be surprised to see him cut with bennett gone. Same for glesason. replace both of our best gunners?

LB good news it is a wash with Simmons and polley is going back to natural position after a year in the middle. Grant side lined what a surprise. so much for that wash.

Not good. we need the rookie CB to step for the future. At least make the PS.

The Associated Press reports Oakland Raiders head coach Art Shell says the starting quarterback position is still open on his team, "This guy going out with the first group doesn't mean that's where he is going to end up." Shell was referring to QB Aaron Brooks, who had other thoughts, "This will be my eigth season. I did some wonderful things down in New Orleans, (but) I'm here to get back in the groove and make this team be a better football team."

Raiders | Brooks' light bulb going off

Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reports Oakland Raiders QB Aaron Brooks struggled a bit at first during training camp but he is now at the point where things are starting to sink in and he's able to begin letting his athletic ability take over. Head coach Art Shell said he has made "big strides" recently and the "light bulb" is going off.
