Do the Saints Need Another QB?
It has been discussed before but with coach Paytons recent words of disapproval regarding the back-up QB's, http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9582002, I wonder if the Saints need to get another QB before the pre-season? Martin MAY be good, if not sufficient, but then what?
Other positions on the team should be addressed before 2nd or 3rd string QB like 1st string Right Tackle and 1st string Cornerback I know. But there still are Quarterbacks available out there. Why not bring Kerry Collins back? Silly idea or viable option? |

Please, not Kerry Collins..
We're fine with Martin as our backup, let's leave well enough alone.. |

Payton learned from the master...Parcells. He is going to motivate one of these guys to come forward, if not, he will look to the wire for another that fits his MOLD. IMHO

I would imagine any QB we brought in would struggle. especially with a new system, new coaches on both sides, new players everywhere.
I'd be more shocked to hear that Martin and A-mac weren't struggling. |

I'd take Vinny Testaverde over Bouman.

Me thinks the question is a legitmate one. If Brees goes down, we'll probably wish we had another experienced QB on the roster, as a back-up.
I dunno. 8) |

(i'd go broke) you always need a good backup qb...the trouble is, how many teams have one probowl qb much less two...........payton is doing the right thing bringing an experienced qb in, in case brees goes down............you really can't ask for more unless another jake falls into our lap and this time we pay him the extra million or two to keep him................smitty |

RE: Re: RE: Do the Saints Need Another QB?
with amac being used at different positions I am all for a guy to develope on the practice squad.
like to see this guy Cowboys | Team releases Mroz Mon, 7 Aug 2006 10:07:45 -0700 Jaime Aron, of the Associated Press, reports the Dallas Cowboys have released QB Jeff Mroz Jeff Mroz Grade: 3.13 Position: QB Class: Sr School: Yale Conference: Ivy League Ht., Wt.: 6-4, 225 40 Time: 4.94 Grading System BIO: All-Conference selection as a senior after passing numbers of 59.3%/2484/22/14. Played primarily with the scout team before last year. POSITIVES: Large pocket passer with an NFL arm. Patient, zips the ball into targets or gets rid of passes with a flick of the wrist. Sees the field, finds the open wideout and puts touch on throws. Puts deep passes in front of receivers and lets them run to the ball. NEGATIVES: Has an elongated motion which slows the release of the ball. Must improve his pass placement and downfield accuracy. Tends to direct passes. Immobile and cannot escape the rush. ANALYSIS: An intelligent quarterback with the ability to power the ball into receivers, Mroz offers a good degree of upside potential and is a solid developmental prospect At least take a look at him |
