my point is that OSU was one play away from being in the title game against USC.
besides...when was the last time an SEC team won the national title...a real title...not a shared one???? yeah...that's what i thought! so Big 10 is dodging the SEC????maybe it is the other way around. the SEC plays 2 hand touch...big play football...the NCAA is probably the one who doesn't have the 2 conferences play that much in fear that the SEC players will get hurt when they actually have to play some physical football. |

You've just outed yourself as a homer my friend. There is no way in HELL there is a more physical conference than the SEC. Now you are just talking to be talking, and not making sense.
And why do you keep talking about a split national title? Who gives a #$%^? The crystal trophy is in Baton Rouge, you can go touch it if you like. Last time the Big 10 even got CLOSE to that? Close? Beuller? Beuller? Oh, Maurice Clarett days. The SEC had FIVE TEAMS finish in the top 15 last year. FIVE. You don't get any stronger than that. Again, the Big 10 is smart enough to know not to schedule even mid tier SEC teams, cause they'd get exposed, heinously. |

Opinions don't count
Lay down some stats. They don't lie! 44 players to the NFL! 27 National Champions..17 Heisman Trophies...We all have our favorites and are supposed to defend our team! I'm a Saints fan..love 'em until I die, and could argue with a Patriots fan all day long who is better (that is opinion), but a Pats fan will point to the titles and players and I have to shut my trap! I am a OSU fan! Lets take last years Buckeyes..QB..Troy Smith (lead the nation in passing, completion percentage, passed for 2,282 yards, ran for 611 yards and had 27 T.D.'s) Buckeys dropped 673 yards against ND in the Fiesta Bowl, including 4 TD's over 52 yards! (that same ND squad is ranked #2 pre-season). I do Believe Santonio Holmes was drafted in the first round by the current World Champs..has speed to burn and great hands (nearly 1000 yards and 11 T.D.'s). Teddy Ginn was on the other side of Santonio...Ginn is a first team All-American who is the Nations fastest reciever and a former teammate of Troy Smith in High School. Ginn averaged 29.6 yards on 18 kick returns and had a touchdown. He is the front-runner for another "BIG TEN" Heisman in 2006! Antonio Pittman had 1,331 yards on the ground, in addition to Smiths 611 last year (this year he is back, and joined by Chris Wells, an OHIO product who was the MVP of the U.S Army All_american Bowl) Wells scored 3 TD's and was the #1 Blue Chip recruit in the nation..He signed at OSU (Reggie Bush, Chris Leak, and Teddy Ginn are former MVP's of thte U.S. Army All-American Bowl)! Our projected starting 5 offensive lineman fit the mold of those who blazed the trail (The Big Ten is where the NFL gets its O-Line)...We average 6'7", 314! (In the Mold of Corey Stringer, Orlando Pace, and LeCharles Bentley)! Our Defense..Ouch! Did you say couldn't hang with the S.E.C? I thought that was a typo! We have defensive Lineman named Quinn Pitcock who is All-American..He's back...The others will have to adjust to playing on Sundays! Those players who you don't think could play against the S.E.C will be playing aginst the N.F.L this year..Safety Donte Whitner....1st round to the Bills, A.J. Hawk...1st round to the Packers, Bobby Carpenter...1st round to the Cowboys (Are you saying that Parcells doesn't know talent at the LB position?), Anthony Schlegel to the Jets (so far that's three linebackers last year!) In the defensive backfield Whitner will be joined by Ashton Youboty at cornerback! Safety Nate Salley was drafted by the Panthers (That is a solid defense in itself..not counting the underclassmen like Malcolm jenkins, who stayed behind to run the ship! (The bucks also had the #1 Center in Mangold..Ny Jets, Santonio,OG Rob Sims to the Seahawks! I really don't know where you get your information. Maybe you don't get a chace to watch Big Ten Football? I just named One team...The Big Ten has many more andunless you can lay some stats and figures down...keep your OPINIONS to yourself!
p.s.- other Big Ten stars you've probly never heard of...LB...Paul Posluszny, Penn State..!st team All-American...Matt Spaeth, Minnesota, !st Team all-american TE, OL Levi Brown Penn Stae, 1st Team All-American, Joe Thomas, 6'8", 306 LB All American Tackle from Wisconsin, Kenny Iwebema, 6'4", 27 D-Line All-American, IOWA, Leon Hall, All-American CB, Michigan to name a few (Michigan has won more games that any team in the history of college football! Michigan has the only guy to win a Heisman on Defense...Ohio State has the Only guy to win the Heisman twice (and finish 2nd the year before)!Tressell has 5 National Championship rings (four 1-AA, one 1-a), What do you got......? |

RE: Opinions don
a shared title is just that...shared! all the conspiracy theories in the world wont help you.
and yes the SEC is soft....they win games, but they play soft football...just like the PAC 10...the SEC is a better conference, but they play similar styles. the Big 10 style of play is much more physical. top to bottom the Big 10 has better teams... Ohio State Michigan Penn State Michigan State Wisconsin Iowa Northwestern Minn Purdue Illinois Indiana vs the SEC Georgia Florida LSU Auburn Bama South Carolina Tenn Arkansas Miss Ole Miss Vandy Kentucky Kentucky, Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss, and Arkansas are all WEAK teams Indiana, Illinois, and Purdue are all WEAK teams Power Houses? Ohio State Michigan Penn State Iowa vs LSU Georgia Auburn Florida just face it the SEC is a nice conference, that puts on a great show, but when it comes to real football they are simply out classed by the Big 10 |

RE: Opinions don
Lets not go back to Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler because everyone knows the glory days don't count....Last years top 5 will tell the story! Here is the most recent season played. Here it is, just the facts, draw your own conclusions....
1. Texas, 2. USC 3. OHIO STATE 4. PENN STATE 5. Virginia Tech This is not my opinion! Is Texas, USC, or Virginia Tech in the S.E.C? How many Big Ten teams are there? S.E.C fans...dig out your calculator and answer me when you come up with the answer, okay! |

RE: Opinions don
Michigan shared a title with Nebraska in 1997 and I wouldn't think of counting that one either! Michigan was good, but they didn't win it on the gridiron..It don't count!
