Drew Brees

I don't see any threads about Drew's performance last night, so I started one up. I thought the first series he had a case of happy feet, and wasn't too calm. After he settled down, he made some good throws, inparticularly the two throws to Joe Horn. The second catch Joe made was real good catch, but the placement of the pass is what was impressive. It was thrown where Horn was the only one who had a shot at it, and he made the catch. I was a little suprised that he didn't hit any of the TEs on a decent gain, but overall I thought he looked fine. What shoulder injury?

RE: Drew Brees

He did miss Colston wide open in the endzone when he over threw him. To Drew's defense though, I think the "happy feet" came from the fact the OL didn't give him much time in the pocket.

I think he over threw him on purpose, because that ball was sailing way over his head. But you are right about the OL not holding their ground long enough.

I don't know about "on Purpose". Drew looked pissed that he missed one in the endzone after the throw. This in itself is something I'm excited about. Bad pass.....No smiling. It's nice to have a QB show that he's upset about a bad pass & not walk off the field smiling like a retard with an ice cream cone.

Anyone else notice the Chargers commentators trying to bash Brees last night after Rivers had a good game?

RE: Re: RE: Drew Brees

Brees did good. He wasn't spectacular, but he did have some rust to shake off. His passes and placemnt look pretty crisp, though. He threw very well and showed no signs of a shoulder injury. I think rust and his nerves were a little factor in the beginning, but he settled down. He'll be alright - leagues above... nevermind, I don't feel like mentioning his name anymore.

No, but I'm not suprised they would do this. I think we got the Chargers best QB, but we won't be sure until the end of the season.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Drew Brees

the charger org. and fans are both in denial about brees.... they thought to themselves, well he's got the shoulder thing and we have a high draft pick, so we're making the best decision, but when they look at it honestly, brees would be the best of the two, but they've made the decision, brees is here and they have to continuously downplay the situation to avert a decline in fan support.... they can't come out and say, well we're gonna suck cuz we don't have drew brees anymore... they do that crap b/c they have to, but they know good and well who ended up with the best qb in the situation...

guaranteed, if brees doesn't injure the shoulder, he'd be resigned and still in a charger uniform and rivers would be elsewhere.... the egg is all over the other person's face , for a change....
