The biggest problem with this team during the Haz era was the attitude of the players. One guy with a bad tude can upset the apple cart. I say if Stallworth is an attitude problem, get what you can for him at best, or cut him. Joe Horn will play hurt, and has a attitude of wanting to win. We need to line someone opposite him with a similar attitude, no matter what. I can't see that someone being stallsworth.

I'm honestly amazed with all this talk. If given the chance to start, Stallworth will be our #1 WR and will have 1,000+ yards receiving. I just don't get it.

I hope it's not real.

I think he needs to concentrate on making the team period rather than being #1 reciever. Horn still has that firmly locked down anyway.

whodat he was the #1 last year. it is not a talent issue it is how you use it on the field. He is the biggest disappointment for 3 years now. he just needs to step it NOW. earn the big money. If he could get the drops under 8, for once, in a year he would be safe. we are still waiting. sucking it up over the middle all the time would help him.
Is whoodi on vaction? thought he would be in the middle of all this. |

OK, first of all, to say that Donte Stallworth is the biggest disappointment of the last three years is a gross overstatement.
Second, consider the other WRs drafted around the time that he was. Ashley Lelie - can you say that Lelie is any better right now? I can't. I'd rather have Stallworth, who has gotten better each of the last two years, not a guy on the decline. Javon Walker - looked to be a superstar emerging in 2004, then he got hurt. Now who knows? Walker is more of a gamble right now then Stallworth, though he admittedly has greater upside potentially if he comes back. Jabar Gaffney - talk about a guy who has underperformed. Stallworth has been better than this guy all around. Josh Reed - do I really even need to make a comparison. Tim Carter, Andre' Davis, Reche Caldwell... come on. Antwaan Randle El - has never produced a year as good as Stallworth's 2005 numbers. Antonio Bryant - he's probably the closest to Stallworth. Quietly getting better - not exactly the threat everyone thought, but growing in consistency. All I'm saying is - there are a couple of guys who have put up big single season numbers in that group, but none of them have consistently outperformed Donte - and that's with last year's debacle. I mean, how much is enough? If the guy has 80 Rec. for 1050 yards and 8 TDs, will that be good enough? |
