Let's not read too much into preseason.....
....yes, we look rusty but you have to remember we are a fairly new team with a brand new coaching staff. So far in preseason both teams that we have faced have blitzed rather consistently like it was regular season. Payton has called mostly vanilla offensive plays and Gibbs has barely blitzed on defense. If we showed no spark at all, I'd be worried, but that's not the case. At times we have looked in mid-season form with offensive drives and Bush has already shown why we drafted him. We have not had the same starters on offense and defense for two consecutive games. I believe that Payton has an ultimate line-up in store for the 4th & 5th weeks that we have yet to see. I also think that defense will start blitzing more with different looks in weeks 4 & 5. Don't panic yet, it's growing pains and the feeling out process that's to be expected with a new team, a new coaching staff, and the aftermath of last year. Dang, I almost sound like a sunshiner!

We've been showing how well we can crawl before we can walk.
