If the team believes they need him, I hope they get him over Carolina. Hass doesn't seem to do much, I don't know why people want to keep him on the team. The same with Zack. Conwell is playing the best. Even the fullback Karney is getting more throws.

One rumor that surfaced yesterday had San Diego inside linebacker Donnie Edwards landing in New England for a third-round draft choice. That only makes sense if the Patriots now believe Bruschi is going to miss a substantial part of the season or they’ve already realized Junior Seau isn’t going to contribute as much as they hoped.
The Chargers are set at receiver, but if a third team got involved it could work out for Branch and the Patriots. Until then, keep pinching your nose. http://www.telegram.com/apps/pbcs.dl...24/1009/SPORTS Hmmm |

Perhaps the pick landed in the Stallworth trade was acquired just for this purpose? Wow, if we land Edwards we sure have attacked the LB position in a short time...

True Edwards would be a nice plug but I would still much rather trade someone for a CB. Teams won't have to run the ball with "Automatic first down" McKenzie getting owned by good WR's! LB's and S's can't cover WR's but we sure do have alot of them.

"The Saints are expected to take the mid-round pick they acquired from the Eagles and go even harder after Chargers veteran linebacker Donnie Edwards, whom New Orleans has been making inquiries about for over the past week."

Nearly a month after suffering a back injury, Chargers linebacker Donnie Edwards yesterday returned to practice. Barring any setbacks, he likely will start Friday's exhibition finale at San Francisco.

All for it as long as the ole "must pass physical" is in there.
At least the new brass seems to realize that LB needs attention. |
