Position: Cornerback College: Nebraska Height: 5-10 Weight: 192 Hometown: Garfield Heights, Ohio Career Notes | Agility | High School | Personal | Stats ANALYSIS Positives: Has above-average straight-line speed … Shows a burst and acceleration to catch up with receivers on deep routes … Very aware of his assignments working in the zone, understanding route concepts well … Shows the hand/eye coordination to stick his hand in to break up the pass … Has natural hands for the interception and also to field punts … Can break down, wrap up and secure as a tackler, showing the willingness to throw his body around in run support … Uses his leaping ability to serve as a gunner on the punt-coverage unit … Shows the ability to latch and trail the receiver through routes … Sees combo routes develop, throwing the shoulder to make the tackle or knock the receiver off stride. Negatives: Does not look smooth in his backpedal, keeping too wide of a wide base, making him appear choppy in transition … Often ends up stumbling and struggling when trying to plant and drive … Late reading the quarterback and does not have the recovery speed to catch up when beaten … Does not have the change-of-direction agility to stay with the receiver after the opponent makes his cuts … Lacks explosive leaping ability and will generally get out-muscled going up for the ball … Allows the catch too often, rarely making a play on the ball … Seems very reluctant to come up and support against the run, allowing himself to get blocked out too often … Not a big striker or hitter … When he tries to jam the receiver, he falls off his hits and struggles to recover … Does not show proper hip turn in his transition … Bites on double moves and gets turned around by play action.
