Brooks Haters Rejoice!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! ROFL! LOL! LOLAPOM! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
OMFG That was FUNNY! ROFL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! More sacks than completions! OMFG! LOL! I'm lovin this. Now I just need to see A.B. get pimp slapped by the Burger King and this burning hatred I have for him will pass. COME ON BK! SMACK HIM UP! ROFL! Yes, I realize I am enjoying this a little too much... But more sacks than completions! ROFL! I have Randy Moss on my fantasy league, why? Cause I knew AB wasnt gonna be behond center for long. He is so predictable! ROFL! |
I almost feel sorry for AB ... NOT. Brooks just gave us reason to understand now why the Saints gave up on him. He's NOT an NFL starting qb & I'm not sure he ever will truly be one. Nine sacks ? Man, wish my buddy & I woulda took the Chargers D on our fantasy team ... sheesh ...
|
I can't bring my self to say good luck but GOOD RIDDANCE...
what a team... Porter, the inactive receiver, was seen laughing and pumping his fist along the bench when Brooks was sacked a seventh time. Is Porter celebrating the fact his team is getting destroyed without him in the lineup, or is he happy he's not on the field taking a beating with the rest of his teammates? http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/indexn?blogid=11 ---makes me feel proud of a 12 team fantasy league i'm in where no one took him at all. The line IS bad but he is such a bum. |
So, does poor O-line play just follow AB? Caus ethat was the excuse he was given when he was here. I guess he is just unlucky.
|
Or he just sucks.
P.S. I get your obvious sarcasm. |
The Raiders offensive line is horrendous.
|
I honestly was embarassed to watch the Raiders offense last night. AB was nowhere near the worst player on the field. That's just sad for the Raiders. Oh well, not our problem any more.
|
now they would be a fun team to play! not on the schedule until 2008 though, Walter might get the hang of it by then if he isn't beat up too bad.
Didja hear Vermail last night? ..."he has to see that coming and get rid of the ball" He had a particularly perturbed tone, like, has this guy really been an NFL qb? |
Ahhh don't worry, they will draw up the playbook with crayons for next week and then BRooks will be able to read it.
|
cute comment from SF-
Shell said Brooks will start again Sunday against the Ravens, because nothing follows an evening with Merriman on your chest better than Ray Lewis dancing on your thorax. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg...9/12/RATTO.TMP |
I'm sure the line play was terrible, but dude has always held the ball too long and created sacks.
McCarthy and Brooks got their new beginnings and the two of them combined to created ZERO points in week one. Way to go guys. Onward and upward. |
just for contrast I thought this fresh post I found in another Saints forum by a SD fan is a good comparison-
I would like to wish Drew Brees and the Saints luck in the coming season, I am a native San Diegan and Charger Fan for 30 Years, And i would like to say a few things about the man you now have as a quarterback. Not since Dan Fouts has the Chargers had an intelligent and natural leader as Drew Brees, never has the team shown such respect for a quarterback as the chargers had for Drew. It was a shame that we lost a man of his character and i hope Rivers can fill his shoes. To Saints fans everywhere, You have a great man at the Helm stand behind him and have faith and Brees will deliver, give him some time to grow and i believe he has the potential for greatness. Get to know your new QB and you will see what i am talking about, I will be routing for the Saints this year and hopefully years to come as long as Drew is there (accept against the Chargers ). And i think i speak for most SD fans when i say we wish you the best Drew, we love you!! Charger Fan |

Thank you, Mrs. Brees :D |
LKelley67, thanks for the post. There's no better compliment for a player than rooting for his new team. It means he's respected and loved. Sometimes players get one, but rarely both.
|
Back to Brooks; I was just watching a replay of the post-game report of the MNF broadcast. Dick Vermeil called the offense "the most inept offense" he had ever seen. This is an offense with Randy Moss and LaMont Jordan. Last year they were pretty bad, but they weren't this bad. What's the difference I wonder?
|
I am not a Brooks hater, but definitely not a supporter. The Raiders did nothing to help their quarterback last night. The O-Line was a sieve and the receivers dropped at least 4 passes that I saw. Now, Brooks' major complaint while he was with the Saints is that he never stepped up into the pocket to avoid a rush, but backpeddled into it; he did that most often when pressured last night again. However, I don't really think it mattered much.
Thank God, Allah, Yahweh, Jesus, Buddah, Confucious, Rah and Zeus that he's no longer our problem. |

Hey...it's not hatin, it's just what it is. |
The O line was terrible!! But to blame just them is silly, as Brooks is responsible for half of those sacks. He showed exactly what most of us expected, ineptitude.
|
That was all the O-line last night... You can't fault Brooks. His mechanics were there but the O-line was not. I seriously didn't think it was funny. It would be like laughing at the Trent Green hit. For a bunch of so called professional football and now days all you hear is the pareity in the league... there wasn't any in that game. Can the Packers, Raiders be that bad...

Double What? |
Not trying to change the subject but I was looking for that hit to be #1 on " You Got Jacked Up!'

you can say what ya want the but only thing that happened in this one game was the OLINE SUCKED, it wasn't him in that game last night! First time the back up goes to pass what happened... SACKED. SD - D was either way to awesome or Oakland O-line was horrible.
|
Wow, so even with another team, Brooks get the same excuse? Why, pray tell, was drew Brees not sacked about 100x behind a line that was supposed to be WORSE than the one we had last year, and the year before and the year before? Stop being an apologist. O-lines can be bad, but a QB with no pocket awareness will make them look 100x worse, the same way I kept trying to tell people Drew Brees, because of his pocket awareness, will make our O-line look better than they should be.
|
Euphoria i second that statement the Oline is the most responsible for that loss. Yes as you stated as soon as Walter came in he was sacked. Walter atleast put together a scoring drive. I still think they should of kicked the feildgoal to avoid the second shutout ever at home sice61. Brooks though is still back peddling to read a defense, and avoid sacks though instead of stepping up in the pocket. Lack of a running game did not help either for the raiders though. Your answer though about was it the SD-D or the OLINE that gave the raiders though most problems is the the Oline. Anytime you give up 9 sacks three bye Merriman you have a problem with the Oline.
|
Well, at least we know the Raiders have a good leader at QB to get them through these tough times :poke:
|
Andrew Walter starts come week four for the Raidahs ...

Most of the fault goes to the O-Line but the play calling also was terrible. You can't keep calling 5 and 7 step dropbacks if you can't block, they didn't try to roll him away from Merriman or counter that pass rush. Also they couldn't run the ball. Jordan was a pretty good RB last year and he wasn't effective at all. Anderson dropped at least 3 passes and I know that there were at least 1 or 2 more. I'm glad that we're in a new era, but I still wish him well.
|
CHARGERS, BABY!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Merriman is a BEAST! I was looking forward to this game all week. I couldn't wait to finally root against a player that I felt robbed my team of MANY games in the past. It also helped that I'm a Charger fan and I hate the Raiders. We smashed Brooks into the ground |
I'm not surprised by Brooks' abysmal performance last night, even though it was bad even by his standards.
What does surprise me is Raider Fan trying to find ways to defend him. I surfed over to raiderforum.net and saw the same finger pointing and excuses that I used to read here. My hope is that Art Shell cuts his losses and starts someone else. I've always thought Shell got a raw deal his first time around and would like to see him succeed. I just can't see how anyone can swim with the anvil named Aaron Brooks chained to his wrist. As a sidenote, I am morbidly looking forward to some more AB interviews blaming someone else for interfering with his greatness. |
Art Shell is going to fail miserably.
The staff he hired is very questionable despite their credentials as players. Jackie Slater and Fred Biletnikoff(sp?) might be Hall of Famers, but that doesn't make them great coaches. The OC has been running a bread and breakfast the past ten years. Seriously. |

You didn't think it was funny? AB sure did, smiling coming off the field and laughing on the sidelines like usual. Funny Euph...you seem more upset about the game than AB was. I wish you stuck up for our own team as much as you do for AB. On a brighter note I've never laughed sooooo hard at watching an NFL game! Two games I will definitely watch every week....Saints and Raid-duuuhs. |
um i thought all the ab supporters said he was going to be a pro bowl qb with oakland. now they have a bad oline. maybe he just isn't that good.
|
What game was everyone watching?.....There was NO pocket to step into away from, none. The play calling was horrible.

Glad he isn't poisoning our team anymore with his apathy. |
