So, we lose to the Falcons 21-20 or 35-3. The next week we go to Carolina and win 35-3. Or we back to Contenders or still Pretenders? If we host Tampa Bay as favorites being 4-0 that would be about the earliest I could get any real hope for playoffs. 5-0 with Philly coming in hope might become aspiration. Real contending/pretending separation occurs after about 10 games IMO. That would be after the Cincy game Nov 19. My "realistic" hope for contention would be this- >>>2-0 now >>>the divsion games are always intense, no matter what the team records. Split the 2 TB, @CARO, and Atl games= 2-2, 4-2 season total then >>>That leaves Balt, Cincy, and Philly @home and PITT on the road. Those all look like real contenders, good play and a 2-2 split on those and I would be excited for the stretch run at 6-4 total. 1-3 on those, 5-5 total then it would be more about the quality of play to think if they had a real chance. I am liking the Payton deinflate the hype and focus on the game approach to Monday. A tough win Monday will bring a visit to the 1-2 or 0-3 Panthers- either way TOUGH. Let's do like the team and focus on Monday. But we can enjoy the hype and hoopla along the way ![]() ![]() |
