this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; All of the hype aside, when it comes down to what matters, can we really beat the Falcons on Monday? I'm drinking before the game, I don't want to HAVE to drink afterwards....

Do We REALLY Have A Chance?

RE: Do We REALLY Have A Chance?
Well, regardless of what happens, I will drink before and after the game. The end result will determine if I drink happy or disgruntled after the game.
This is going to be a tough game. I really don't know if the Saints can stop the Falcons running attack. I guess we'll see. |

I am just hoping for a solid effort...the emotion and the crowd can only mask our weaknesses so much. Hopefully the Saints can pull off the upset, and it would be satisfying if they make it a good game...i just hope they dont come out and lay an egg.

Yes we do.
We have a chance of winning. not a strong chance but a chance. There are so many new people and ideas, that the team doesn't know it's supposed to loose, yet.
If they can contain Vick and slow Dunn down in the first half, they will have a chance. The Saints have always played Tampa tough, but have always found a way to loose to Atlanta. I am looking forward to the game to see what they really have put togetheras a team. It's hard to believe what Atlanta did to Carolina and Tampa. Vick can be sporadic, and lets hope Monday is one of his off nights, and Brees is on fire, and the defense catches a few breaks--fumbles and interceptions. |

This years Saints have shown that they take pride in stopping the run. The other X factor is that the Falcons defense has not faced this offense, neither from a personnel or coaching standpoint. The Saints offense is the X factor of this game. The game hasn't been played. We have a chance. SFIAH |

win or lose, we now have a team that won't quit...........
imo, the most dangerous team is a team that won't quit.... i think the saints can beat the falcons straight up...... i keep wondering to myself, just how good or bad are tampa and carolina? both of these teams should have had their way with the falcons............. i won't predict overtime but will say the saints in a squeaker.................smitty 24-23 SAINTS WIN, SAINTS WIN, SAINTS WIN.................................... |

the key is stopping the run.... vick is not very good in the pocket, so won't really be able to beat us that way... however, the boy can run... fast, very fast..... brees has to be on this game.... they have a good secondary with adequate speed to stop bush (d. hall, esp.) so he's almost neutralized.... we'll have to grind it out for the first couple of drives, to establish play action and maybe that will open up the passing game for us.... the key though is stopping vick and dunn... although, crumpler is usually the person that kills us... we'll see.... we have to use everything possible to help us... the "katrina effect", the emotion, the fans, the homefield, etc.... we need it all....
