Tight End Power!!!
We obviously have 3 great tight ends. with Boo, Sloan, and Conwell our team should be much better. David Sloan is so big and powerful, he can just run over tacklers. Boo can run very fast and he is very elusive when it comes to getting away from tacklers. And Ernie Conwell can be played in multiple positions, so I would say we have an awesome tight end group!!!

Tight End Power!!!
did you see any saints games last year?
sloan was a huge flop and williams wasn\'t any better conwell should be a good addition as well as rasby but williams has been rumored to be on the trading block and sloan\'s injury and salary might make him a june 1st casulty, we improved our TE situation as compared to last year but again last year our TE\'s were pure garbage |

Great tight ends? Come on. Off the top of my head I can\'t remember a single play our tight ends made last year. Slone be gone. As far as Conwell I hope he works out but that remains to be seen. Boo Williams isn\'t a true tight end. Maybe Cam Cleeland will come back.............

Sloan was a disaster last year but if you look at his 7 year career, it was by far his worst ever. He should bounce back and be much better (how could he not).
The Lions game crushed his confidence and haunted him the rest of the year. He\'ll do much better next year. Williams has now had 2 years to get his weight up and improve blocking. The offense should be 2nd nature now so look for his concentration and productivity to improve. He also knows its this year or never. Conwell is a stud, and a leader, and a legit weapon. If healthy, watch out, 7 to 9 TD\'s are possible for this guy. Rasby, Road Paver. Hilton: practice squad project, but with potential to be an NFL stud. We are loaded at TE, its no longer an area of concern, at least for a couple of years. [Edited on 22/5/2003 by tweeky] |

Cam Cleeland come back. You must be joking, he stayed injured at least half the time he was with the Saints.

Conwell should be our #1 TE, Boo Williams isn\'t going to make it as a TE, he\'ll be either traded or waived.
Rasby in a big time blocker and I have heard rumors that the Saints may work him at FB this summer. Sloan has value as a blocker, but his contract might make him a June 1st cut. Zack Hilton is a big target that has the hands of a WR. He is better than most give him credit for and if he had a little more blocking skills he would have been drafted. I see the Saints going into the season with Conwell, Rasby and Hilton. Unless Sloan agrees to renegotiate his contract. |
I like playing my cards wrong.
I like having strong opinions with nothing to back them up with besides my primal sincerity. I like to complain and do nothing to make things better. Kurt Cobain rip... |

I seriously see Boo Williams being here for this year. I\'ll be the first to admit he\'s had his opportunities and not made the best of them. He also shows flashes of huge play potential and has the WR knack for getting open. The problem is he lacks concentration. He drops too many easy balls and didn\'t block well enough to be a full time option. I have read though that he has bulked up to 277 lbs and hasn\'t given up much in the quickness. If he has developed some solid blocking techniques and has committed himself in the offseason as mentally as he has physically, he will get one more look from the coaching staff. I believe he will see a truely make or break year in New Orleans this year just because he cap value is insignifigant. David Sloan, as much as I liked him with the Lions, Tweeky was dead on with his comment about the game against his former team. Just because of his salary I think he becomes the odd man now.
I concur with everyone on both Conwell and Rasby. They have value and will both contribute where their strengths are. I like our TE group. It\'s solid with experienced depth, addresses all areas a TE must, although not in the single person package (but not many guys can do that), and having such TE depth opens up alot of possibilities on offense we sh!tcanned last year because no one could step up. |

We have too many TEs at the moment. I think we have an excellent group of TEs, but ther are too many on the squad. One will have to go and I think that will be Sloan because of his salary.

This is one of the best dilemmas to have. 4 proven and/or great potential TE\'s. Who do you give up? I\'m just afraid whoever it is will make us pay in some form or fashion. It always does.
