But teams like the Bears didn't just appear. Last year they were 11-5. They were the #1 scoring defense in all the NFL last year. They were also in the top 10 in rushing the ball last year. They didn't appear from nowhere. The Saints are a work in progress. You have a completely new coaching staff and 24 players who were not on the squad last year. If you want to see how tough it can be simply take a look at last week's opponent. Tampa won the NFC South with an 11-5 record last year. They have won the Super Bowl this decade. They cannot even buy a game this year. The Saints are going to be shaky and fitful. In several areas we still don't have superior talent. I presume that when upcoming drafts and free agent acquisitions this will change over the next several years. But what we have is a team that doesn't give up and finds ways to win. I was more impressed with the Saints with the loss in Carolina than in the wins. Down 21-10, Saints teams of the past would have conceeded the game. This team plunks an 8 spot on Carolina and are an onsides kick of getting back in the game. Domination isn't instantaneous. You need talent, scheme, and time to get to dominance. SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
