Ideas For the Coaches This Week
I have been impressed by the insight of many of the contributors here. There have been very many valid and good suggestions that could merit real consideration by the coaches. For this week what would you make as a single point of emphasis or idea for the Iggles game?
Mine- Let Reggie throw an option pass. I don't remember it at USC but I think it would be yet another facet of his game to put defenses on their toes. A roll out inside the 10yd line for a TD ala LT would be suhweet. Yours-? |

RE: Ideas For the Coaches This Week
Same as you Kelley, yesterday we were talking Saints football at work and said I would love to see Bush throw a pass, if I'm not mistaken he threw a couple of them while at USC, I think they could pull that play off due to Bush' speed, how cool would it be if he could get the ball to Horn or Colston, if the play worked the fans would be out of their minds.

I think it should be used when we are up on an opponent by 2 scores. Let Reggie to Joe slam the door! My point of emphasis would be run, run, run! If the Iggles bring huge pressure from the start which I believe they will. Delays and draw playsmight catch them over- persuing. I would also use quick slant routes to the slot reciever to slow upfield pursuit and bring the safeties closer to the box to open up downfield 1on1 coverage. It should be a hell of a game if we can avoid shooting ourselves in the foot with mental errors. And now a tribute to John Madden, "If we control the line of scrimmage and win the turnover battle then we should win the game" DUH! |
I'm no one.
Who are you? |

I want to see a re-emergence of our D-Line and our Linebackers. I want to see dominant defensive play.
They need to crank it up! I want a D that warrants a nickname. Not just No-Name!!!! |

Yeah it is time for some hard nose Dee and smash mouth running, then as soon as they bite, deep to Colston or Horn or Henderson.
