this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; IF you dont watch the Saints games, its hard to see all the things he does to help the team. He impacts every single play when he is on the field. Not many players in the NFL have that kind ...

I think people are just hating the fact that the Saints got a player like Bush on there team. I promise you, there isn't one team out there that wouldn't love to have this guy on their team. Like everyone has been saying, HE IS A ROOKIE, it takes time to become a real good RB in the NFL. And the fact is, we are still 5-1, what more can you ask for from a team that had 3 wins a year ago? We all know that Bush is a huge part of that.

It also can be noted that these 'haters' more-than-likely know jack squat about football. They don't have a good understanding about what's happening on the field.
In other words, they can't tell you WHY a play happened a certain way. All they can tell you is that one team was better than the other for that certain play. They're just not intelligent football fans. Take everything they say with a dash or two of Tony Chachere's. |

"Bust" is such an over-used word in the NFL. If a player can at least play a significant role (starter, valuable reserve) in a handful of games and stay in the league for a season or two and make some tangible contribution on the field, I wouldn't call him a bust. So by my definition, Jonathan Sullivan wasn't a bust. Just a lazy player who failed to live up to his potential and our expectations. "Bust" would be a more apt title for someone like Cie Grant.

As a follow up, I think it's just that people expect so much since Reggie was the #2 and he has the great reputation and potential. Fantasy owners are unhappy that Reggie isn't getting in the endzone. Well, so what? I've got Tiki Barber on a few fantasy teams and wish he could get some TD's, but he's putting up other great #'s and it's obvious he's one of the best in NFL, no way I'm calling him or Reggie a bust.

Remember, people called Stinchcomb a bust and Lesile and a few others, who are playing with this team. And those players are now helping the Saints win. The team is giving the players a chance. No one comes in the league and is a star right off. Not to mention, if you are still in the league, you are not a bust. Only if you are out of the league, and didn't do much while in the league, like the San Diego QB, who was picked 2nd in the draft.

Bush is our not so secret weapon. If teams ever want to underestimate him and not scheme around him than bring it on!

I agree...I wonder what it is going to be like if defenses ever stop keying in on him and allow him the chance to beat them...if that ever happens, Reggie will step up and do it because there isnt a safety or LB in the league that can cover him 1 on 1 with any sort of regularity.
