... or, do you prefer:

... there's always the time-honored:

"Same old Saints".

... the truth is, they were not going 15-1. Hate it that they lost at home, but they lost to a very good team, which is not even in our conference. And even in a loss, they did score 22 on the Ravens, who don't play prevent and don't let up.

Remember, even the mighty Bears looked awful against the Cards, and it was the greater ineptitude of the Cards that allowed the Bears to come back.

Football is funny in that the games are so few and far in between that it creates these waves of cheers and jeers from week to week. One week we're going to the SB, the next week, "with the first pick in the draft we pick.."

'Cause the simple man pays the thrills, the bills and the pills that kill

Been wanting to say something similar all week. I've just been busy at work.

If you're gonna lay a turd, make it against an AFC team.

Consider this...there are 2 NFC teams riding high right now. (The Falcons and Giants who we both still have to play in their places.)

It was a bad week for good nfc teams against the AFC. The Vikes got smoked worse than we did at home. The Seahawks lost to the Chiefs. The Rams lost to the Chargers. These are all teams we should be taking a very keen interest in as the playoff picture shapes up.

The bad news? The Vikings have a very easy schedule coming up and they will not win the division. This is bad for us because they could easily secure a wildcard spot. The Falcons have their two easiest games coming up and they already think they are going to the superbowl.

What do we need to do?

Beat the easier teams on the schedule. (Niners and Bucs) I know that no game is easy in this league, but we have to win these games.

Split against our remaining AFC teams (Pitt and Cincy)

2-1 against our remaining NFC East teams. (The Giants are going to be very hard to beat in their place but I like our chances against the other two.)

At least a split with the Falcons and Panthers.

That's 11 wins and it is doable. 10 wins is prolly more realistic, hoping that the extra loss comes to an AFC team.

We did beat ourselves, but the coaching was pretty bad on Sunday. Why run on 3rd and 14 at midfield? Why did we let a rookie running back throw a pass into the endzone on 1st and goal from the 18? Why did we challenge an obviously correct call? Why did we leave Brees in there to get smeared late in the game? Where was Deuce? Why did we go for 2 when it didn't matter?

That game was disgusting, but it was just one game and you can argue that its better to lose knowing you deserve to lose than on some crappy call or fluke play. They've gotta get ready and take care of business on Sunday.

The going for 2 was a good call. Yea, it didnt matter, but, it was a good practice against a great defense. We may need to go for 2 later on in the season and its always good for the extra reps. especially against a really good D. Yea, we layed a big egg on sunday, but like everyone was saying it was against an AFC team. I say are schedule plays like this here on out.

Tampa Bay- Win, for some reason we always find a way to beat these guys.
Pitt- Win, The team aint doing great so I say we take it
Cincy- Win, this team has issues and we should be able to win it
Atlanta- Win- Not too sure about this one, but damnit i hate the falcons
San Fran- Win, damn we better win this one
Dallas- Win
Washington- Win, take out Portis and they got nothing
NY- I say we drop this one
Carolina- Win, Pay back is a biatch!

Maybe I'm hopeful, but 12-4 and division champs

is this all really happening????

We didn't beat ourselves... we got stomped by a great D period. We were intimadated, we were out-played, we were dominated on the lines. We got beat by a better team. 22 points??? When you are betting beat 35-7, your mentality changes. The Ravens let up on our necks a bit.

So were the Ravens intimidated and dominated by the Panthers who smacked their ass up and down the filed?

Are the 4-4 Panthers a better team than the Ravens?

Do I have to explain the game of football to you???

Its about week to week match ups. Its about showing up to play. We did not beat ourselves we didn't show up, we didn't play football. We were flat out BEAT.

On that very day the Panthers were a better team than the Ravens -YES.

Thats funny. You saying "We didn't beat ourselves" But then you follow it with...

"We didn't show up"

"We didn't play football"

Do I have to explain "contradiction" to you???
