this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; At this point, we're 5-2 and bad feeling or no bad feeling, we don't know what's going to happen in the next 3 games. Or all the ones after that. What if we got to, say, 11-2 and then tanked ...

At this point, we're 5-2 and bad feeling or no bad feeling, we don't know what's going to happen in the next 3 games. Or all the ones after that. What if we got to, say, 11-2 and then tanked the last 3 games to end up 11-5 and still won the division, still got into the playoffs? We'd still only focus on the negative, wouldn't we? We need to learn how to be fans of a winning team by finding a way to purge the demons and the negative thoughts. Hopefully, our bad feelings are just the lingering nagging thoughts from previous teams that went out of their way to find new ways to lose week in/week out.

Tampa scored 3 points against the Giants last week if I'm not mistaken..
I feel we have a very good chance beating the Bucs this week, with a win I think we'll feel good about the team again, as we did before the Ravens loss, if we lose gawd help us all.. We really need to win this one being it gets really tough after the Bucs game. Wins will be hard to come by here on out. |

You just can't look ahead. Too many variables, especially because of injuries. But in Tampa Saints D will play well enough to contain a weak offense. Tampa's rookie QB is going to get pressured big time and that'll cause turnovers. Grant and Smith both get sacks. Brees has another very solid game. Passing game sets up Deuce for his best game of the year - over 100yds. and a TD. Saints win 20-10.

C'mon everyone - KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!
Hey! Just because we messed up against the Ravens, that doesn't mean the same thing will happend against the Bucs. Our team will have studied the game film, worked out the mistakes and most importantly, learned a big lesson which is, treat every game like its a playoff game and never underestimate the oppostion.
We WILL beat the Bucs!!!!!!!!!! Think POSITIVE, kick out the negativitiy. BLACK AND GOLD RULE!!! GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!! REMEMBER, WE HAVE ALREADY DONE BETTER THAN LAST SEASON!!!!!! |

RE: C
I read an article with Tiki Barber, where he said that the year Ronde, and the Bucs won the Superbowl, that they had the mindset that they were going to win it all, from the beginning of the season. I think that is essential to a players pshyche, to believe hold heartedly, that they are not just going to get into the play offs, but going to win it all. I honestly believe the fans have to be that way as well. Positive energies, create positive responses. I say we're going to win every game we play, and the Superbowl as well. Who's with me?????

RE: C
Typical Saints fans......WTF? One loss does not define this team, especially when it's a loss to a pretty damn good team. People are so ready to jump off the wagon. To be a Saints fan is not to be a fan only during "fair weather." Hang in their people! This team is far better than what we have had in the past 6 years & they have something those teams in that tenure did not.....a leader at QB & most of all....HEART!!!! Don't be so quick to bail. Even the best teams lose a few during the season.

My one question is how is Duece doing? I have some issues with how he seems to disappear in the middle to late part of games. Payton shoudl game plan to get Deuce 4-5 touches per quarter. SFIAH |

The giants
They are on Defense right now. I look at the tampa Cinnci game as good reference. This time we can not let up and get silly against them. Run all RB till they drop. Bucs are beat up on the line. LB Shelton Quarles (Knee); Practiced friday for the first time this week DE Simeon Rice(Shoulder); did not practice friday DT Ellis Wyms (Ankle). Practiced friday for the first time this week Hope they worry about how Duce burned them last time, as well as Drew because of the reaction to bush on the field, this could be one of Bushes better days as a saint in 06 Once we get the safeties up burn them with the passing game. |
