Where does Haslett rank?
yeah, but look at what Parcells did in NY, and NE, and the other NY. In three seasons the teams got better every year. 3 years with the Giants - super bowl. 3 years with the Patties - super bowl. Not even three years with the Jets and they got back to the playoffs if I remember correctly. The important part is that his teams got better every year. They didn\'t fade down the stretch, they had locker room problems too (see Keyshawn Johnson or Phil Simms) and it didn\'t affect the teams\' performance.
And yes, Haslett has more talent. Consider - Mora had four pro-bowl caliber linebackers and usually another couple of very good down linemen. He had a a good runningback in Hilliard for a while, but no one else on the offense was ever really better than average. Currently, Brooks, Horn, Deuce, Lewis, and McAfee are all pro bowlers. Johnson, Glover, Ricky Williams, Roaf, and Knight have also been Pro Bowlers. Add in other above average talent like Pathon, Stallworth, Howard, Grant, Bentley, Turley... Yes, the talent level over the past three years has been consistently better than Mora ever had. |

Where does Haslett rank?
Parcells > Haslett was the point I was making. But it always takes him 3 years. This will be Hasletts 4th.
Liken it to high school football. You don\'t expect the JV team to do as well as the varsity team, do you? |

Where does Haslett rank?
I ranked the coaches based on coaching ability of current NFL coaches. Just because a coach has won a superbowl doesn\'t mean he is a great coach. Sometimes the players make a coach look better than he is, i.e. Barry Switzer or the Dallas Cowboys comes to mind.

I don\'t agree that is the exception to rule just as I beleive there have been great players and coaches in all sports that haven\'t won a championsip. I could fill up this board with players and coachs that were great and didn\'t win championships. And of the one\'s that have won championships how would you rank them? Do multiple superbowl winning coaches rank higher than single superbowl winners. There is far more than coaching that goes into winning a superbowl. To prove my point I bet I could coach the Tampa Bay Bucs to a win over a Bill Parcel\'s coached Detroit team....

Not to be a jerk either but the name Walter Payton comes to mind. Seems like there was once this running back for the Browns that was pretty good too. I think his name was Jim Brown. I might could go on but it\'s late and this is taxing my pea brain. LOL
