I just got finished watching NFL Matchup this morning. They spent several segments breaking down runs for LT and LJ among others.
With the coaches tape you really get an opportunity to see how the blocking scheme sets up for runs and why plays work and why they break down. We've spent a lot of time here talking about why Bush hasn't been successful in the run game. But it's clear to me know that without the coaches tape, it's difficult to understand why plays break down. The crew points out how great backs use counters and misdirection to make successful plays. They also talked about how the blocking scheme sets up natural lanes to run through. Finally they pointed out that plays require patience by the back and trust in the blocking scheme in order to be successful. Man I wish we had access to the Saints coaches' tapes. Then maybe we could see what's really going wrong with the Saints run game especially with respect to Bush (and truthfully lately to Duece too.) SFIAH |
Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |
