this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Reali asked the panel if the Cowboys were the class of the NFC and Paige said, "No. I'm taking the New Orleans Saints. They're 6-1 in the NFC and the Cowboys are barely .500 in the conference." The look on ...

Woody Paige just called the Saints the clas of the NFC.

The look on Mariotti's face was priceless. |

I saw that. For a moment I thought the Earth might fly off its axis.
Is that a Deadpool icon I see? |

RE: Woody Paige just called the Saints the clas of the NFC.
Some people just don't want to accept that this is team is in fact DANGEROUS!!! Woody has been very supportive of the Saints this year. Ever since the ATL. game at the dome in week 4 he's been pulling for them. He argues how good the Saints are from time to time but his reasons are priceless. He mentions the feel-good asperct of all this but he feels that the Saints are producing one thing that a lot of teams aren't....RESULTS! Moving the ball...defensive stops...what the hell else can anyone ask for?
We have now seen a new aspect of this team.....its response to adversity. Folks...we are a few players away from being complete. At 7-4 I find it hard not to say we are complete but a few defensive let downs this year kinda tell me we need just a few more solid players. Keep believeing and have faith folks. One more thing.....for those of you that keep talking crap about 2002.....let that s!@# go. ASAP!!! |

Until (and I want to make it clear that I don't think it will) we prove the doubters correct, the SAINTS truly are a team to be reckoned with. Although we may not be the very best, most complete team in the NFL yet, we are certainly a team that NO team likes to see on their schedule this year. The SAINTS present a valid threat to every other team in the league. And, when we are firing on all cylinders (and not turning the ball over), we have the talent to beat anyone and everyone!
So yeah, I think Woody was right in calling the SAINTS the "class of the NFC". Hopefully, soon he and a lot of others will be calling us the "class of the league." |
Go SAINTS!!!!!

If the Saints do indeed make the playoffs, and i think they will, and if they do indeed get a first round bye...the atmosphere in the dome would be unmatched with the Saints playing for a chance to go to the NFC Championship game. Should the Saints win that game, and have to go to Chicago, the only thing that would worry me would be the weather conditions in cold, windy Chicago deterring our passing game a bit. But if the Saints kick it in and play their best football without turnovers, i dont see anyone being able to beat us in the NFC...the AFC however is something completely different.

We just have to play mistake-free football and we have a good chance to beat anybody, and I do mean ANYBODY, even the Seahawks, Colts, Chargers or any other team that we end up facing.

I woudln't be surprised to see Chicago get knocked out in their first playoff game, ala Indy last year.
