again i'll say this is where (i'll) see, not we, where we, the saints, will stand on the start of the season. other signings will come as well as cuts and the whole picture will become a lot clearer, maybe not by the 11th, but certainly on game day........philly is a tough team pre-season or not, and i expect the saints to come out shooting.............i will not look for excuses other than rookie mistakes, (this i can tollerate) to go 3 and 1 in the pre-season. i'll take 2-2 with mistakes, no more......if we fail at this i will not have a good outlook for the season until proven wrong. this is where i judge and this is my opinion. question? do you believe pre-season is just for seeing who's who on the field of battle? smitty

To me, pre-season is a chance for the veterans who are pretty much assured a roster spot to flake off any rust they may have and get into game-day mode. It is also that time for the new breed, if you will, to show if they have or not what it takes to be on an NFL roster. The only time I truly have my undivided attention in pre-season games is when the first team is on the field. That gives me as good an idea as any of how the season will go. I pay some attention to the second and third string just to see if there may be a diamond in the rough somewhere. I honestly hope the Saints lose all or win only one of their pre-season games. They seem to perform much better during the season when they have a losing pre-season record.

I never predict pre-season games. There is a reason there aren\'t odds on pre-seanson games. Too many unknowns. Most coaches really aren\'t concerned about the final score, they are evaluating players and other things. But if i had to say, I say, 4-0.

d, this is where i will disagree.......the 2nd and 3rd is what will carry this team in times of injuries and there will be injuries........this is where i see who\'s who on the field, even though they may get limited time.........these are the ones that have to step in and kick it up a notch, just my opinion...........smitty
