gatorade shower
so they dumped payton with the gatorade. that wasn't neccessary, and he didnt look too thrilled.a great win, but one worthy of the gatorade shower? maybe this is like the 2001 LSU SEC championship season when the fans rushed the field after just about every home win. hopefully this is the first of several more gatorade dumps (division, conference, super bowl) for the coach.

I just really think this game meant alot to Peyton, as he was going up against Bill. I mean, look at the play calling. He was out for blood pretty much the entire game. It's always a celebratory occasion when you can one up your former mentor. Look what happened to Obi Wan. : )

i wasn't really thrilled with it either, do it when it actually means something, like clinching a playoff spot, or a playoff win

That game obviously meant something for the NFL to move it up to a sunday night game. I think it was ok, but Payton probably would've enjoyed it more in the locker room instead of infront of Bill

Payton was just like Parcell, he didn't react to it.

Yeah I think it was Charles Grant who dumped it on him. He looked at Grant like, "You bastard."

RE: gatorade shower
...maybe Charles thought securing a winning season, getting the inside track to a 2nd seed and a bye in the playoffs, totally domintaing and embarassing the darlings of the national sports media in a nationally televised primetime game was cause for celebration...

Hey, I don't blame him. Coach P deserves respect. He deserved that win and they all should be celebrating. I know Coach P isn't going to let them get too excited.
