this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Reggie has 562 receiving yards in 73 catches. However, 525 of those yards are YAC. He's getting a lot of screen and dump passes that he's making into gains. Too bad the Saints don't play the Colts this year...

The myth of Reggie's "receiving" yards.

RE: The myth of Reggie
I honestly see weaknesses in both conferences, not just the NFC. The only "complete" team, that I can speak of, would be the Chargers. They look like a freakin beast, on both sides of the ball. That's the only team, in the hunt anyway, that I would say doesn't show weaknesses. Indy has been exposed, and they are going to go down quickly in the play offs. Denver is done, due to rookie QB. Baltimore has suspect offense, that shows up one week, and shuts down the next. Cincy, up one minute, down the next. New England just got shut out by Miami. I mean, why are all of these analysts keying on the NFC? The AFC has just as many exploitable weaknesses, in my opinion.

Quick note: that was as of last week. After today's performance, his YAC are going to increase expotentially.

As long as he gets the yards, that's what matters.

RE: The myth of Reggie
I L-O-V-E watching Reggie run after he makes a catch. He is arguably one of the NFL's best at making things happen once you get the ball into his hands. Best of all, he should only get better over the next couple of years.
What a gift we got from the Texans. Speaking of the Texans, I live in Houston and the fans here are demanding heads since the Texans passed on both Bush and Vince Young and both have turned out to be started that are winning big games. Too bad, so sad... |
