Green Bay is currently behind the Giants. This is based on the common opponents tiebreaker. However if Green Bay beats Chicago on Sunday evening, then the common opponents records of both the Giants and the Packers would be 1-5 moving both teams down the tiebreaker list to strength of victory. A win over Chicago (currently a 13-2 team) would move the Packers ahead of the Giants in the SoV category.

So if the Packers win, they are in no matter what the Giants do. Only that scenario with the Rams can keep them out.

I think this is first time I've actually quoted myself.

I have new information. The win over Chicago isn't sufficient to get the Packers over the hump in the SoV category. Actually the Giants are way ahead of the Pack in SoV. I found a Giants press release here:

http://www.giants.com/news/press_rel...story_id=24211

That outlines everything that needs to happen for the Packers to win in SoV:

**Packers clinch strength of victory tiebreaker over NY Giants if all of the following occur: ARI win, DET win, MIA win, MIN win, SF win, CAR loss, HOU loss, TB loss.
So the simplest way to state it is that the Giants are almost virtually in if they win Saturday. They'll have a long long day of scoreboard watching. But if any of the above games go the other way, then the Pack is out. Notwithstanding the fact that the Pack would still need to win in Chicago for them to even have a chance.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
