Home away from home
Six NFL teams chosen as potential hosts in Europe

NEW YORK (AP) -- San Francisco, Seattle and Miami were among six NFL teams selected as potential home teams for a regular-season game next year in Britain or Germany.

The other teams that could "host" the game are Buffalo, Kansas City and New Orleans. The league also narrowed the sites for the game Monday, eliminating Canada and Mexico for this year.

RE: Saints to play in europe?

That's a terrible thing for more reasons than one but the biggest problem is that, because of all the travel time and time changes, it would insure that the Saints play lousy two weeks in a row. They would be jet lagged the first week and tired the next. I'd like to tell the NFL what they can do with their plan.

I hate that do it in the preseason not the regular season. Besides we already lost a home game last year now we would basically lose another one.

Well if I get the new 'out of country' games plan correctly there's only one game a year on foreign soil. Now with six possible home teams that gives us a small chance. Hopefully a SB appearance would convince the NFL it needs to put a weaker team out there.

I'm with Poydras, I don't like the idea of going overseas for a game. Unless they can make the week before a thursday (or at worst a saturday) and the week after a monday night. Or the bye afterwards, which could be why the six teams that are listed are there.

The plan is to let the teams travleing have the by week after the week abroad. It would be one game overseas or in Mexico/Canada about every 16th year. You could lend us in europe the Saints atleast that often.

You only pay for the games in the dome, but remember you will pay for 2 extra games this year the preseason ones we didn't have to pay for last year, that's where they are going to get us.
