Why I don't think the team will be TOO amped up Sat. night
I believe Payton and his staff will work to keep the guys grounded just like they have all season long.
The team played extremely level headed against ATL in that first game back at the Dome. Using the fans emotions and controlled mayhem allowed the team to play their best. I also believe the team went through a similar experience when they played at Dallas. The Saints wanted to win for their coach and for the leg up in the race for the bye. Emotions help in football, but after the initial rush of playing in a big game, in front of your home fans wears off, it's what you have "left in the tank" that matters. Hopefully, the Saints will use their prior experiences this season to their advantage. |
