Mason Crosby

I think this guy is going to be a great nfl kicker... carney is getting old, and i think this is the last year of his contract. The saints could use crosby like they did cundiff for a year, but i bet crosby could make a 47 yarder in the cold, and not kick it out of bounds like "kickoff specialist" cundiff. If he is still available in the 3rd round the saints gotta take him... and i think that if the saints do a good enough job in FA they may back up a few spots and take him late in the 2nd round. Also, kicking in the dome will only help this guy since he's battled the elements for 4 years in colorado... we're gonna need a solid kicker in the near future... what do you think???

RE: Mason Crosby

I've got a serious question to ask. How would a street free agent kicker get a tryout with the Saints? And no, not asking for myself.

While I agree a solid kicker is pretty much a necessity nowadays, I'm not sure if I would spend a 2nd, or 3rd round pick on one. I mean, unless he's hitting them from like 65-70 yards consistently, then you have to take him. He's a miracle from God!

I would tell the guy to get an agent, do the old "trying to get in college" video tape of his games and go to the team headquarters.

If we're gonna replace Carney, I'd prefer the Saints bring in a proven kicker who can thrive under pressure and not take risks with a rookie kicker. With our potent offense, we should be able to lure Feely or Josh Brown at a reasonable price. Preferably Brown.

Isn't Feely the guy who choked 3 times against the Seahawks in one game in the regular season in 2005? Lets stay away from that guy.

Carney had a great year. In case you guys didn't know this, kickers in the NFL can play until they're 73.
