Granted the colts seasonal stats we bad. They did lead the NFl in the playoffs. thats when it counted. Remember the Colts in previous years were one of the better ones in the NFL. Just ask any fantasy football players that drafted them this year thinking they would repeat there performance from previous years. So the core was there. They just fell apart or teams figure them out. who knows. but they got there act together in the end.
We are sitting good as core but key additions are needed as we all have said. While a CB is needed I think MLB is key. That is a position were a Veteran FA will make the biggest impact. I do not want a FA of Donnie Edwards age, here is my pick Kawika Mitchell, MLB 6-1/253 South Florida NFL Draft 2003 / Round 2/ Pick 47 http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/396038 http://www.kcchiefs.com/player/kawika_mitchell/ That would be a bigger bang for the bucks than a TE. Grahm is good but I am thinking the money for the two will be about the same. As for WR I do not see a FA that can step into Horns shoes. They will be cheaper but not as good. But the cap hit is the cap hit. It is what is: high for a 35 year old WR just like Donnie Edwards would be. So we may see a WR early in the Draft. Rice in the first? Higgins in the second? Paul Williams in the Third? |
