I think with a QB with deadly accuracy like Brees (instead of having VY throwing to him), this guy could be special.

I'm assuming this guy is flying under the radar right now as well? That means we could sign him, for a pretty good price. I wish we could wrestle away the third WR, in Cincinnati. Washington I believe. He is a big, physical receiver, that HAD good hands when he was at Tennessee. He has had his moments in the NFL, and I think, with Payton coaching him, he could be a star. I wonder what his contract situation is.

I believe both the Bears and Colts have cap issues that they will need to deal with that may require some hard decisions on both teams... That being said no one can say for sure who will have the Franchise tag applied at this point. The Colts also have some offensive players that could garner the tag (Rhodes for one). I would not be suprised to see the Saints play the FA market big time this year in an effort to ensure instant impact this season.

Bengals | Washington placed on IR
Fri, 15 Dec 2006 15:00:10 -0800

The Cincinnati Bengals announced they have placed WR Kelley Washington (hamstring) on Injured Reserve, ending his season.

2006 721600.00
Drafted in the third round at the #1 spot. He has seen less playing time every year since being drafted.

Wow. What is it with Tennessee receivers, and injuries?

Lions willing to part with Bly
Former Pro Bowl CB can seek trade
February 14, 2007

BY NICHOLAS J. COTSONIKA

FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER

Lions president Matt Millen and coach Rod Marinelli have given cornerback Dre' Bly permission to seek a trade.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Matt and Rod allowing me the opportunity to find a home for Dre' Bly that is more conducive to his Pro Bowl skill set," Bly's agent, Kennard McGuire, said Tuesday.

Lions spokesman Bill Keenist had no comment. Millen was unavailable for comment.

The Lions signed Bly as a free agent in 2003. In his first three seasons, he made two Pro Bowls and was a first alternate for another. He was elected a captain before the 2006 season, but he suffered a drop-off in performance. His three interceptions were his lowest total as a Lion.

Bly is a pure cover corner. He prefers lining up man-to-man. But after the Lions hired Marinelli last year, they installed the Tampa Two defense. Bly is now asked to play zone and stuff the run. He also has a high salary-cap figure for next season -- more than $5 million.

The more I think about it I really like this option

"We may have lost the game, but you'll be hurting tomorrow." Doug Atkins

dont be too sure hagan..............
coach wants the most out of his players.....
he may ask for the same thing..........
in other news i just have to speak up on grant..........
i have not seen one of you speak bad of him....
i don't wanna speak bad, but i do wanna air it out.....
i do not see grant as anything special, a wash for, who was that great end that went to the eagles? howard? i'll give him another yr if he's still here........ here is my reasoning.........howard was great, but middle of the line when playing great teams....as i see grant.......you need to step this level up in order to reach the superbowl......neither one did or will imo...........but, i will give him another yr to prove me wrong.......i think grant is the more laid back of the two, but when the bucks fly, he could be gone in the twitch of an eye.......i do not think the saints or loomis will progressively try to sign him.......they would have done this by now.........this team is headed north to youth and will continue to build on it......i look for the same as last yr, weeding out the garden and preping the soil for the next season........smitty

With the resigning of Shanle, you can almost bet that the Saints wont be getting Briggs. That would leave us with 3 OLB's making decent money and no one to play the middle. I also dont know why so many of you are content with just resigning Danny Clark and having him start in the middle for us. He is solid against the run but a definite liability against the pass.
