RE: saints mock pick ????????????
Unrivaled character and leadership skills are not an issue but Posluszny does not possess any standout physical gift either. Providing everything checks out fine with the knee. Though this season he did seem a bit slower than last year. So ILB is going to be his position. Then there is his inability to shed blocks as his only weakness. which is a big problem for MLB.

RE: saints mock pick ????????????
Too analytical I think...
Elvis Dumervil of the Broncos was too slow. Dwight Freeney was undersized. Anquan Boldin was too slow. Jeff Garcia was too short. Kurt Warner was Kurt Warner. At the end of the day, I want a football player... and Poz is that guy. Look at linebackers like Bruschi, Spielman, Ted Johnson, etc... Poz fits into that same mold. They didn't do anything spectacular, they were just hard nosed football players. |

I do not think it is a big deal in a 3-4 as a ILB, but it is in a 4-3. shedding blocks is a must in the 4-3 as MLB. Not that I would hate the pick but I have to wonder. speed in the middle is key also in a 4-3. once again not so much as in a 4-3

RE: saints mock pick ????????????
He was a top 10 pick last year and the only reason hes not this year is his injury slowed him down. If hes there when we pick we have to take him, theres too much of an upside.

RE: saints mock pick ????????????
Paul Posluszny - OLB/ILB, 6-2, 238, 4.65, Penn State
Justin Blalock - 6-4, 330, 5.25, Texas Marcus McCauley - CB, 6-0, 200, 4.36 Fresno State Chris Houston - CB, 5-11, 190, 4.45, Arkansas Zach Miller - TE, 6-5, 259, Arizona State These are the 4 we would choice from. tough call. All four address a big need on the team. But Paul is the best impact for the dollar at this pick. Houston next because he is ready to step in right now. Marcus has the most upside of all 3, but has the greatest potiental to be a bust. 30 year old gaurd needs to be addressed for sure. Miller would be nice to have but the D needs beef. besides the second teir of TE in the draft is one of the best in years. Bowe not mentioned was a surprise. |
