Yeah, Meachem has a chance and maybe Alleman. The o-line played better than I expected last year, but they weren't great.

As for the CB's we drafted there's no chance of them starting, but even a 1st round rookie CB would have a tough time getting a start now.

Last year we had a ton of holes so it was easier for a rook to start. It's not going to play out that way this year.

Well it's funny that you mention the reason that Devery should be 3rd is because he runs bad routes and has suspect hands, because that is the knock on Meachem. Supposedly he's a sloppy route runner:

Strengths: Possesses very good size and above average speed for a bigger receiver. His initial burst is impressive and he shows the consistent ability to drive defensive backs off the line of scrimmage. He possesses long arms and big hands. Knows how to use his body to shield defenders. Can pluck on the run, gets up-field extremely quickly for his size and also shows the ability to consistently make the first defender miss. He is a strong runner that will break attempted arm tackles versus smaller DB's in the open field.

Weaknesses: Still can improve his consistency as a route runner. Has a tendency to round off some of his routes and isn't always as crisp as he should be getting in and out of his breaks. He seems to have some problems reading coverage; he will occasionally fail to find soft spots in zone and he doesn't always seem to be on the same page with his quarterback on option routes. He seems to struggle locating the ball occasionally on deep throws and will mis-time some of his leaps. Also needs to become more physical; he seems to fear going over the middle and will drop some catchable passes when he hears footsteps. Gives a good effort as a blocker but needs to improve his technique. Needs to play with more leverage and learn to sustain down-field blocks more effectively. Knee injury in 2003 is somewhat concerning but he has been healthy since.

Is that not almost exactly the same player as Devery Henderson?

Alright, you may have a point there Pak.

I mentioned earlier in another thread about Meachem's face when Goodell announced that the Saints selected him, and how he had "Holy sh**" written all over his face. He's shaking his head and stuff... CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

I noticed that look too, but it's hard to judge what he's reacting to. I don't think it's anything more than disbelief or actually relief to be picked. The way his family reacts it doesn't seem like this is some sort of negative or that he didn't want to come here. I don't know if that's what you meant, but that's my take on it.

Yeah, I mean I guess it is hard to read that look, but when I was watching it live, my first impression was that he was like "O crap, not New Orleans..." But you're right about his family's reaction, they seemed pretty excited. I don't know, I guess I'm just remembering back to Reggie's reaction and trying to draw similarities.

I thought the same thing when I saw it live, but I wasn't sure if that's what I saw.

I guess we're just used to players NOT wanting to come here. Reggie had the look. So, Did Ricky Williams.

Here's a very interesting read. It's a Q & A with Payton about Day Two. Plus, make sure you visit the front end of the site. They have a new movie introducing a new web design coming this summer. It's kinda cool. A little ovrhyped considering it is just a re-design, but kinda cool.
