Whoa

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why was I under the impression that Rickey Jackson's number was retired by the Saints organization? What has been the holdup? There are only two numbers retired, #31 and #81. This is a travesty!!!...

The Saints have never been a team that was rich in tradition or history.

There aren\'t many players that should have their number retired for the Saints. Ricky\'s should have been retired the minute he retired.

I never want to see anyone from the Saints wearing his number.

Rickey Jackson\'s number should definitely be retired. I think that he was the best Saints player ever. As soon as they retire his they could go down the line with rest of the patrol for that matter.

I think that\'s debatable. Rickey, however, is not. There is no valid reason why he shouldn\'t be in the Hall of Fame, much less, having his jersey retired. Mills would be next, but like I said again, is debatable.

The \"Dome Patrol\" operated as a single unit for so long, that when you think of one you usually end up thinking of them all. All 4 were great players, and should be recognized by a team that has not had alot of success. Rickey Jackson definitely was the best of the group, but all of them had great numbers and feasted off of each other.
