The actual speed of round 1 was about 12 minutes per pick. I'd say cap it at 10. Rd. 2 give 7 and then 5 the rest of the way.

Agreed. It is so ridiculous waiting all that time

Wait a sec.

Steve Czaban of Fox Sports was talking about tv ratings this morning, and wondered out loud what would happen should the Draft be televised fri-sun instead of sat-sun, and be televised on friday during prime time.

Now ESPN reports that the NFL is considering it?

i enjoy the draft on Saturday and i also think that playing the super bowl outside the u.s. is stupid and would make me think about not being a fan anymore. just my feelings. now as far as his approach to the idiots that run around getting into trouble that has been a long time coming. i think he is right on with that. just because you can afford a good attorney and keep from being found guilty doesn't mean you aren't. if i had half the issues that some of these cats have, and ones as serious as they do, and my face was flashed on tv and the media kept saying the name of the company i worked for, they would fire me in a heart beat. so he has every right to go after these guys and sit them for the season. guilty or not guilty you represent who employees you and in the end it is always the nfl. so if you are constantly bringing negative attention to that employer they have every right to suspend or fire you. just like baseball did to rose.

The draft is too long. I don't really know if moving one round to friday would help. Just shorten the time and cram it in tighter an we'll be fine.

Moving the Superbowl outside the US? Never heard about that one before. Living in Europe I'm all for regular season games here (although it'll be cheaper for me to fly to NO to watch one), but the superbowl? That should stay put, for now.

It is so blatantly obvious to me that a lot of teams are milking the 15 min clock so ESPN can get their maximum air time and commercials. I kept checking the web, couldn't stand to actually watch much more of it.

I love the idea, The little lady hates it....:p . If the coaches have time to plan out rounds 2/3 over night it would lead to some interesting moves on day 2, thats for sure. alot of wheeling and deal would happen. :handguns:

Holy Cow! I should be the NFL Commissioner or at least on the Competition Committee!

Here's an article about changing the draft times...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2872514

In relevant part the article says...
Quote:

The competition committee is expected to recommend time limits of 10 minutes for the first round, seven minutes for the second, and five minutes for the remaining rounds.

You know whats odd? The article just below said the regular sesason game being played at Wimbley sold 40,000 tickets in 90 minutes. That was just for european "fans".

Can we get a premier league game in return? I'd take an Arsenal/Chelsea game for a Dolphins/Giants game any day of the week.

Oh, and well played ScottyRo, well played indeed.
