Wondering...
sitting around this morning, catching up on posts, pondering others' thoughts, there are some good ones....and something came to me.
I might be showing my age, but does anyone else miss tuning in on Monday nights, hearing the 'Da-da-da-DUM', then Howard Cosell doing a voice over,-and somewhere in there throwing in "THE Nash-ion-al Foot-ball League".... |

Yep miss that group. Howard always steered the group to talk about the teams playing and the players. He was the walking history book of the NFL. We use to sit with stat and record books and try to find a wrong statement. after 2 years forget it. He was the greastest. Yes I am that old. The monday night football for those us who remeber these days, have been on a steady ride down hill since. "ET - Monday Night" would be a better title than anything with football in it. turn down the sound and pump up the music. |

I just hope w/ the new crew: the play-by-play guy (Michaels/Tirico?? don't remember, maybe I'm just hoping Tirico will take over) will give us down/distance/substitution, Jaws will analyze on the spot as he does in the studio (w/ prep time of course...fingers crossed on that), and Tony will ask the irrevelant, "So Jaws..what if this guy went here?"
Since they moved Jaws into the spot, and finalllllllyyyy!!! got rid of Theisman, I have a bit of hope, but not too much. 'Eh, we shall see. (edit note....would rather see a stiff play-by-play Tirico, then Jaws/Vermiel booth myself; would love to hear other comments on other combos) |

Why is MNF the only time we have to endure the 3 man booth? Hell, with Theismann it seemed like 4 guys, or 3 women.
Shut up and call the game... Tony K is a great writer, bad announcer. I liked Gifford and Drunky, I mean Dandy, Don. |

You don't like Tony K? I love him in that booth. They should put Wilbon there too. Michael Smith should also be a special guest sometime... he's really good imo.
