Will Poole Trys out for Saints
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/p...?urn=nfl,32801
Will Poole, the oft-injured third-year cornerback waived off injured reserve Dec. 19, tried out for the New Orleans Saints over the weekend. Poole, a 2004 fourth-round draft pick, has missed the past two seasons because of knee problems. After a promising rookie season, Poole was a projected starter for the Miami Dolphins in 2005 before tearing two knee ligaments during a minicamp. Poole reinjured the same knee early in the 2006 preseason. Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel |

Also...Chris Reis has been tearing it up in Europe. This is the second time this week that I've seen him mentioned. (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/report/NO/10178592)
...After being named the NFL Europa Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3, Saints safety Chris Reis followed that up with another big game in Cologne's 31-28 loss to Berlin last week. Reis, who was in on 13 total tackles, also broke up a pass and recovered a fumble for the Centurions... |

We seem to be auditioning quite a few DB's. You gotta figure there's no way Thomas makes this team. He is making too much to be a 4th or 5th corner, and there are at least 2 guys ahead of him at nickel. Only way he stays is if Payton wants him for insurance.

I liked him in college. It couldn't hurt to give him a shot though he's probably another camp body.

They may do what they did with Bellamy last year: cut Thomas late, call it a tough decision and tell him to stay by he phone. That way, if there are some injuries, then he can come in without any bitterness. If not, then they missed having to pay such a big contract. For a 4th or 5th CB.
