I'll go one step further and say that I don't like to see any player get seriously hurt, knock the snot from their nose yes but seeing a player lay on the field for more than a minute is not something any football fan wants to see, so I thought...

not cool at all.... BTW..I think it was a clean hit. |
well it may not have been deliberate, but it was illegal, cause he got flagged for it.

I wasn't going to touch this one, but seriously.... let's stop the nit-picking about legal or illegal and wishing bad things on other players.... I think the point of this video was for people to "oooh" and "ahhh" over a very hard and borderline bad play. I would be ticked if KK was flagged for that play as a Saint, but I'm glad to see some aggressiveness (although not smart) from our newest safety.

It's good to see he's not scared to get infront of someone who's running full speed. |
What do you mean he stopped a huge gain... did you not see the flag??? 15 yards, personal foul. 15 yards on any play much less against the Pats is a huge give up. When you say "anyone", its to general and open a whole can of debate. I like football and love football but you can't like accept the hit if it draws a penalty or why not take a gun onto the field and shoot the QBs as soon as they recieve the hike? I mean you're taking out the QB right who cares if its illegal?

Just because a flag was thrown does not mean the play was illegal. Both players were in the air and Kevin lead with his shoulders and not his helmet. this should end that argument ONCE AND FOR ALL!
"Caldwell remained on the ground for several minutes after the hit, before getting to his feet and walking off the field. The play drew a penalty for a personal foul even though the reply showed it appeared to be a legal, but brutal hit. " http://www.fantasyplaymakers.com/pla...n/fname/Kevin/ |
The Penalty is "uneccisary roughness a blow to the head"... this doesn't not have to be helmet to helmet, nor do you have to lead with the helmet. -illegal.
The second slow motion shot also clearly shows helmet to helmet contact. |
He was not fined, Ted Bruschi said he thought it was legal, every form of media believed it to be an innocent and legal, although brutal, hit. I didn't post this to have a discussion on if it was right or wrong the post is to show the facts on this kid.....He has a motor and is not afraid to hit someone which a few of our DBs are known for trying to arm tackle rather than smack down too many times.
