Been brighter days
If I have had to say "Mention it and Die" once I have said it 50 times at work this morning.
Not a good showing (perfectly understated). The defense was on the field way too long last night. If you have a moderate defense to begin with you must keep them off the field. Obviously we need a big run stopper in the middle and our defensive backfield needs major tweaking. Our offense looked lost, it is the first time I have really seen them "zoning" and not in sync. Brees played with no confidence.... he had an off night everyone knows what he is capable of, no need to start flaming. The Colts D did a great job at shutting down the long ball threat. Deuce needs to handle the ball more, his effect of wearing down the D and making it open up for passing can't happen with 10 carries. One of the biggest questions I am left with is how will our young receiving crew perform. Last night we did not get to see them in action. The Colts looked good, no doubt about it. I think we did not look good, thus the huge margin in the score. |

Is true........ honestly I was waiting for the flatness to go last night. No one created a spark..flat all night. I think we will see a different Saints team next week. Also, it doesn't hurt the opponent is easier.

Re: Been brighter days
Good point about Brees sitting. I hadn't thought of that, wonder if you're on to something.
The break between this game and the next is 10 days, right? But that's not quite two weeks... He'll look good next week, I'm counting on it. |

I don't know, Brees had a pretty bad night in Chicago last year and I don't think there was any break between that game and the Eagles game.

Re: Been brighter days
Tell me about it. I think we were all high on how consistent Brees was in the Preseason. But that was just it, it was the Preseason. The O-Line was showing no love last night and we just kept getting rushed all night. Freeney hands down is a monster. Either way, I hope we can get it together, Tampa isn't going to lie down either. I think they are just as hungry.
