gut check after 2 games.........
it's time to do some serious soul searching.....
it's just gonna get tougher........ if brees does not step up, the saints go down......... don't give me he does'nt have time....... no excuse what so ever......... this is brees' offense and i don't care who's calling the plays...... find a way, or go down in flames..... i'm not giving up, but i am disappointed..... i don't put it all on the defense. if the offense can score, we are in "all" games...... start earning your money offense......... that includes you payton.............smitty |

Re: gut check after 2 games.........
At time Brees doesn't have the time to get the pass off but he looks bad out there with help up front..
I said in another post, "Brees' passes are off" |

Brees is a QB that you have to get in-sync. Once you get him in a groove, he's very hard to stop.
Henderson, Bush, and a few other players had some pretty crucial drops. Not only were they at critical moments, but they were also instrumental in building Brees' momentum. What happened in the Tampa game was that they were playing slow, trying to pound Deuce and Tampa came out like they were posessed to catch the Saints off guard. The Saints never really recovered. Henderson is just horrible. I cringed everytime somebody claimed our WR corps were "loaded". Our #2 receiver can't catch a ball. |

FireVenturi, that part of the Waterboy was playing through my mind that whole game.
I'm not giving up though. I know what the Saints are capable of, they just need to actually go out and do it. |

Re: gut check after 2 games.........
I can't believe Heath Shuler has looked so bad the past couple weeks. Oh, wait, that's Drew Brees. Sorry, my bad... Seriously, Brees was very bad today. Henderson is not getting it done, I think he may have been benched in the second half. There were times in their 4 WR set that I seen Colston, Patten, Moore, and Bush lining up. The only hopeful thing is all teams go through a slump every year, hopefully the Saints are going through their slump now. I am not too hopeful right now, it's one thing to get beat a couple times, it's another to get completely blown out two weeks in a row. No offense, no defense, special teams stink too, it's looking real bad right now. Hopefully they will get this turned around very quick.

Re: gut check after 2 games.........
It's better early than late.
They're just having a trouble gelling and putting it all together. Hopefully, they'll get it tightened up. The sooner the better. We're just 2-games into the season. I'd rather lose the first few games, put stuff together, go on a winning streak, and make a serious run at the end of the season than win 7-straight games at the beginning and not even make the playoffs... Hey? The only thing that I AM scared of is that coaches had enough time in the offseason to finally prepare for us and learn how to beat us. Maybe they really have figured us out. |

Something is wrong with Brees. He looks hurried ALOT. To me he doesnt trust his Wide Outs.

Re: gut check after 2 games.........
What about the defense?? The line had no pressure, the LB all suck, the DB's can't cover their faces when they sneeze.
BTW, The kicker is 1-3, the OL are getting ripped, the RB's fumble, and Devery can't catch a cold. Breeze is not the problem on this team. |

For Brees to be effective, you have to BUILD his confidence. When his receivers keep dropping easy balls (Henderson and BUSH are bad for that), Brees starts to become a bit uneasy and doesn't play well. I wouldn't trust Henderson, either. And, granted Bush IS a RB, he's still only 50% catching on a flare route. |
