It's called Analysis Vs. We Suck.

I guess you prefer the latter half of the argument.

Re: Wide Out

its becoming more and more obvious that Meachum was a HORRIBLE pick. We should have drafted a defensive player. We are decent at wide out...but our Defense SUCKS. 72 points in 2 games.....thats a red flag right there. And Meachum wont contribute any time soon. We needed a corner or MLB that could come right in and do something. Not a project wide out.

If you want to chalk up Meachum as a horrible pick, you'll have to throw the Bush one the year before as well. He hasn't really don't crap for being a number 2 overall. Less we forget who when before Reggie and that team is 2-0.

Aww, c'mon, man!

What rookie averages 3.6-yards a carry, scores 6-rushing touch downs, 32-first down receptions, 2-receiving touchdowns, and fumbled only twice? (I can't find his special teams stats.)

There's first round picks that never had numbers that good throughout their entire career. What more do you want from a backup runningback?

Re: Wide Out

You can't pin the blame on any one piece of the team in particular. They all suck equally bad at this point in time.

1. We wanted to run Deuce more? We tried, and he fumbled twice.

2. Give Reggie more touches? We tried that too, he's a featherweight and couldn't get anything done. He too fumbled, and it was luckily recovered by Eric Johnson.

3. Drew Brees turned the ball over as well. How many "good" throws did you see him make? Balls at receiver's feet, balls over their heads, balls batted at the line, and balls thrown behind receivers.

4. Receivers didn't catch the few balls that actually hit their hands (besides Colston, and Moore).

5. The offensive line let too many defenders get to Brees.

6. Special teams...do I even have to go there?

7. Olindo Mare? Some idiot decided to cut John "Money" Carney.

8. Defense. Forced a few 3 and outs, but allowed way too many points. Obviously. I think the offensive impotence leaked into the defense as well.

9. Playcalling. Hey let's pass the ball despite no rhythm whatsoever. (and I'm talking about WAY before we fell behind 200 points).

Overall, this team is out of sync, and someone needs to stand up and take responsibility for one another. Take some pride in your job and smack someone in the mouth. Keep chopping.

Well Said WillieMac. Sean Payton...you look like a one year wonder. I hope you can clean this up before you become Jim Haslett.

And at some point I just want to line Reggie up in the backfield and just keep handing it to him until he gets it. Because I think when he do get it...he'll be one of the top 5 RBs in the league.

Just a FYI, In response to number 7. Before last year many, many people here thought we should have cut him b/c of how poorly he had done that last two or three years. One good year does not make a kicker, nor does one bad year.

Re: Wide Out

Joe Horn, even though he was hurt last year, was a motivating force on the team.
On the sideline, in the locker room, on the practice field, on the phone...hard to replace that with "just another vet" that didn't get wet. There seems to be no chemistry, nothing that we can build on, no flow, no consistency. I 2nd the Lance Moore motion. The boy has good hands, good speed, knows how to get separation, and knows where he is on the field...and who's around him. You can't teach that. You either have it or you don't - Lance has got it. Give him a chance to make some plays and I think he will.

Re: Wide Out

Horn had a knack for first downs. And, I can't really stress that enough.

For what it's worth... the Chargers are my 2nd to favorite team.

Yeah, this is going to be a really rough, rough week for me.

Re: Wide Out

ODJ - Maybe the Saints will do better when they don't travel northward or eastward. That theory can't help SD at all.
