Fans can see practices free

New Orleans will open its first-ever training camp today at the Saints' new training facility in Metairie, beginning with a 9 a.m. workout. Fans will be admitted to the morning practice, as well as any other outdoor workouts, free of charge until camp concludes on Aug. 21.

The Saturday evening session is closed to the public. Fans are then invited to an afternoon practice on Sunday, to be held from 3-5 p.m.

Changes to this schedule could be made on short notice. Check www. neworleanssaints.com for further information as camp gets under way.

Gates will open one hour before every public practice. Fans may bring snapshot cameras, but no video cameras will be admitted.

Fans cannot bring food or beverages - this includes cans, bottles, coolers or containers of any kind. All bags are subject to search.

The New Orleans Zephyrs are offering paid parking in their lots, adjacent to the Saints complex. There will also be a drop-off area near the practice field and handicap accommodations will be available if necessary.

Inclement weather will close any public practice, officials say.
