coach Sean Payton held a news conference Monday

Payton updated the injuries to the team. "Deuce McAlister has torn an ACL, he'll be out for the season. We're gonna put him on injured reserve today," he said. The Pro Bowl running back tore the ligament in his left knee in the loss to the Titans. It was McAllister's right knee that was previously repaired. One of the Saints defensive backs is also out. "Jason David fractured his forearm. He'll have that surgery done to put a plate in there... time wise we're looking at four to six weeks depending on how quickly that can heal," Payton said.
Payton says linebacker Scott Fujita has an ankle injury and receiver David Patton hurt his calf, but those two should be ready to go for Carolina in two weeks.
As for personnel moves the Saints are making as a result of these injuries, they re-signed veteran defensive back Jay Bellamy and rookie running back Pierre Thomas will suit up for the Panthers game.
The Saints have gone from pre-season Super Bowl favorites to 0-3 for 2007, losing to the Tennessee Titans 31-14 on Monday Night Football. But quarterback Drew Brees says he must believe that they can get out of this funk and start winning.
"I know how hard we've worked to get here and we don't want all that to go for nothing," said Brees this morning on WWL First News. "I believe that next time out, we're going to be the complete Saints team that we know we can be."
The Saints are off next week, then host the Carolina Panthers October 7th.

Ok there is the worse case. It has happened. Reggie is the man 100%. Thomas will suit up. Davis is done for 4 to 6 weeks and Bellemy is back. Then to close the marine corp theme: be all you can be

"We may have lost the game, but you'll be hurting tomorrow." Doug Atkins

The news seems to get worst each passing day, I didn't know about Jason David's injury until I read your post hagan.

Ah, won't let me edit my typo. But in response... nobody. I'd like to see if Usama steps it up, or gasp! ole' Q-Tip hand... Fred Thomas

It's going to be very interesting to see who takes over for Jason David. My guy feeling is it will probably be Fred Thomas, but I would not be surprised if the Usama Young era is about to begin.

Well...I kinda am. He has been both the best and the worst of our defense. He has been burnt quite a few times AND he is the only person on this defense with turnovers. (Both if I am not mistaken.)

Anybody who thinks that Reggie Bush has the capability to carry this Saints team on his shoulders to a winning season in 2007 must be taking LSD and posting on this board.

Reggie is overrated and will NEVER live up to his HYPE. He is a minor role-player on offense and special teams. He will never be anything like a Walter Payton or Emmit Smith.

please . . .
