As you well know Pro football is the ultimate team game. It's impossible for a single player to singlehandedly win games. It both proves your point and refutes it at the same time. The Saints need a consistent offensive line to be successful. Of course you draft for that. But by the same token when you have a special skill player, you can't afford to pass that player up either. There will be another tackle in the draft this year, and the year after that and the year after that. 5 years from now though Bush will probably be in the ballpark of LT and Sander. Those players do not come along in the draft every year, or even every other year. Also as much as we probably both as much hate to admit it, it is in fact about more than wins and losses. If we had passed on Bush it would have been a PR disaster for the team. SFIAH |
