Will we go 10-6 or 9-7

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why we will go 10-6 this year... 9-7 at the worst. 4 straight losses to begin the season is not what it seems to be. Who here remembers the last pre-season game when the starters looked invincible? Think of that ...

Will we go 10-6 or 9-7

Why we will go 10-6 this year... 9-7 at the worst.
4 straight losses to begin the season is not what it seems to be. Who here remembers the last pre-season game when the starters looked invincible? Think of that is the last chapter of a book written last year. We are what we are and now is now. But therin lies the quandary. The Saints started the year like a big ole' messed up rubik's cube.

Now what? Here's what. And you know it's true... The kicker Orlando is gone ASAP. bye bye. Meachem goes into the lineup for atr least 80% of offensive plays - doing what he was inended to do - taking Joe Horn's place. Brees is re-invigorated by the change of furniture. Play the fricken' no-name for pete's sake - stick that young rb in their to change things up with Reggie. We've got a decent TE. We really need to move the furniture aroun and that'l give Colston more room to be himself.

My dear Saints fans... I've been here since before Fainth Hope and Bum. And if there is one thing I've learned it is the relationship between the performance of offensive potential with defensive potential. Doubly true in an emotional city like New Orleans. If offense plays below capability ( AB ) defense follows suit. Remember the Dome patrol. Hebert ain't Joe Montana- but it elevated his game... Last year, the offense elevated the defense.

Here we are this year. Thing is - this is a new team. And that is what Paytin needs to get down on - needs to get in to. Horn is gone... Deuce is gone...

Will Payton follow in Haslett's footprints? No. T'was as painful for me as for you. And he had to do it. But the old Saints are dead. Next week the new Saints are reborn. And who better - the dang Seeahawks who bedeveled Haslett - who couldn't adapt to the vibe down here and changing the furniture.

Payton will change the lineup. Meachum in. That new RB in. Brees'll wake up. The renaissance of the offense will raise the defense to a far higher level of performance. It all will change in Seattle.

You know - there are lies, darn lies and statistics... Don't let the stats bother you. Be what you feel and felt. BELIEVE.... prayer is also good.

cue the Rocky music...

Let me ask you a question. Did you somehow expect ( fear) things would ( might) turn out like this? Have you seen it before? Did you see the Cowboys game last year? Are you - honestly - completely shocked we've started 0-4? Does it ring a bell?

Sean Payton is our coach. He's new to all this. But look what he did last year. Don't forget. 0-4 is nothing. Forget the stats. There are 12 more games.

No mountain is too high. Not for us.

But you are forgetting who do you have blocking on the Offensive line, not to mention the Defensive line. This post is so going to come back and haunt you.

2-14 here we come (at best).

I understand the optimism of a 10-6 and a 9-7 record. But to be realistic I think you have to see where you stack up after 10 games before you can get close with predicting the final standings. And right now a 5-5 record thru 10 games to me would be very optimistic. And if by some act of God we were to go 5-5, then you`d be looking at winning 4 of your next 6 games to go 9-7. From what I`ve seen, i just can`t see it.

I feel like you have to win one before you start thnking about anymore wins. I'm not as down on this team as some but you have to win that first one.

I'm with you...I predicted 10-6...and i'd rather stick with that, than quit believing in OUR SAINTS.

Re: Will we go 10-6 or 9-7

I think the Saints will find that first win come sunday night primetime. It will be nice havin all the espn gurus say I guess the Saints finally played up to the hype. That is what bein a fan is about, pulling for your team hoping to see them exceed and play up to their potential. I dont think I would call myself a fan if I hope for my team to lose so I could go to a website and say I told you so. It is to early in the year to hope they lose so we can get an early draft pick who might work out in the pros. When they win this weekend I think it will be the start of a nice little run for us. If by some strange freak accident we lose I will pull for them next week we are in a weak conference with only 2 teams still having their #1 qb on the roster. I will always pull for the Saints unless they come out and say they have redone the roster after reading some posts on the internet or that a webpoll will decide our #1 pick(any LSU defensive player) or email us your favorite screen play.

I'd have to see how they win their first game. So far what i've seen they couldn't win a game this year as a team.
