Re: Pierre Thomas
I hear ya but lets face it our OL has yet to preform up to the the level necessary to sustain a running game. This has been very apparent when you look at how we almost let Seattle back into the game b/c we couldn't run in the 2nd half and control the clock. And the coaching staff has to want to run the ball. Payton seems like he is only calling the run when the other team expects it which means there are 8 defenders in the box. Running Pierre Thomas is not going to effect either of these two realities. The OL needs a big upgrade to truly become a 1st tier NFL team rushing.

A good example of Payton calling a run when it is expected is when they had 1st and goal from the 4. He bunched up the line and had a WR come in motion and stop at the line. The ball was given to Reggie for a loss after the falcons blew up the play. I might not have been able to tell anyone it was going to be a run, but as the ball was snapped that is what I expected. |
